| Donating YT 30K Club Member | Thanks, Susan is winding down her Kennel and mentioned that she is going to be selling some of her adults. When I got Pixie she also had a 3 1.2 year old who was a little bigger. I love the look of Stardust Yorkies. Pixie has a very tiny , short face.

| The lady I got my Shayley from has some female pups available right now that will be in the 3.0-3.5lb. range, that she e-mailed me pics of today They are so cute and seem to be just what you are looking for. They are a little pricey as they have over 70 champions in their pedigree. PM me if you want her e-mail address or I can forward the pics she sent me to you...Good luck!!

| Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | I wouldn't exactly agree with that...some tiny dogs do come with babydoll faces...which in my opinion is the shorter snout, round looking face...

| Just being nosy but I took a peek at Nataliesyorkies - very beautiful parents and pups but I noticed that the dams were quite small for breeding I think anyway? Isn't 3.8 pounds and 4 pounds kind of small to breed? Just asking as I was always told that the mother should be atleast five pounds. Any answeres to this. As I said I'm just curious. Thanks. I have to agree with Misty /BAMAFAN121....visit the YTCA.org site...it is a marketing term as teacups, etc. You'll find that most that have this in their websites are selling their puppies for a bigger dollar than most. It amazes me that some are selling them for more than a reputable show breeder would sell a show dog. Reputable breeders would not sell their tinies....they place them in homes that are familiar with the care of small ones. Reason why they wouldn't, they are aware that they may bring higher vet bills, therefore they do not want to sell heart ache.

| Wow looks like some of the dams are only 3 lbs. that are being bred? Am I reading that right or are they just pets not being bred? Seems very very small. Elaine |

Yes, they should be at least 5 pounds, but there is a bit more to it than that....the female should be of good bone and be a good representation of the breed. Even breeding a yorkie that is within standards can have problems, so why ask for more.

| Everything seems to be very small, well, that is except the price. Wow! But I just can't see paying that much for the problems, even if they are "cute". All Yorkies are "cute". If a person is proven to be trustworthy, it's possible to buy a show puppy for less than some of these prices.

| I have a question that isn't meant to provoke any ill feelings, but I'm wondering why the price tag is so high for these females, and the price is lower for a male? Is there a reason for that? Is there a reason why the price overall is so expensive, or again, is that just because they are so tiny and are expected to be small when full grown? I've been making so much progress with the "rat-thinking" boyfriend that he says that when the time is right, because having this dog is obviously very important to me, he'd like to buy her for me as a present (birthday, x-mas, etc.) after we both research breeders and go visit...but I could never ask him to pay this much for any dog!! |

Most breeders price their females higher than their males (supply and demand, females are more desireable than males). I for one don't agree with that reason. If a breeder is selling a dog with limited registration (meaning no breeding rights), the pup must be spayed or nuetered. Therefore, both are unable to breed, so why should a female be worth more than a male. Then on the other side of this is, if a breeder is selling you a pup with open registration, meaning that you have breeding rights....they both can breed. Now as far as this breeder's pricing, that is her right to price them as she wishes. It is up to us to educate ourselves with enough information to make the right educated choices when picking that new little puppy.
