| Kelly, I remember the thread. And didn't mind the first 25 post about it but this is getting out of hand. I am 22 with 2 small kids, 2 yorkies, and 1 rotty. I have my hands full with these dogs much less with kids. I am SOOOOOOOOO glad you got one. =) It is a never ending cycle of bills just for vaccinations and food and vaccinations and food and boosters and --hey--they are doing rabies for $5 today--and food and well--you get it. It's not just buying a dog and that's it. Poop and pee and training and puppy pads and everything the dogs chews up has to be replaced or trashed. Any pet owner knows this stuff though. I don't expect her to get the picture I just painted but IMO she's to young for that. I was when I was 12. Boys was on the brian and that was it. I got a puppy and mom and dad took care of it. PERIOD. My boys can call mine "theirs" and go on with their life until they buy thier own house or rent an apt. then it's on them. It may be the PMS thing but she won't understand that either. I probably should give it a week then post, but I was so bored tonight. LOL. I am glad I didn't offend you. =) I like it here but some things just need to be said if you know what I mean. I may take the week off becasue this may be my week to say them! LOL. |

| Thank you for not selling dogs to kids - no matter how mature they are, it should be the grownups who have the responsability from the start - they will anyway! To the youngsters here: I really understand that everybody here wants a little cute doggie SO bad it hurts - I know the feeling from when I was a kid. But taking care of another living being is not something you should commit to just 4 years before you start dating and going out with friends. Where will the dog be then? He will live for 16 years maybe and you have to say no to a lot of things because of him. You have to get up really early every day for so many years to walk him. You have to be home to feed him. You have to be there for him every day. And when you are 16 you shouldn't be home with a dog, you should be out with your friends.

| I know what you are saying and I really dont think you should blame it on PMS. I have 2 children who are 8 and 11, Preslee(my yorkie), memphis my mutt and I help take care of my boyfriends lab mix also so I have my hands full. Aside from that I work a full time job and try to maintain a somewhat normal social life. I know how expensive dogs can be especially the smaller breeds so I waited until I knew that I could afford it. My older son is 11 and there is no way that he would get a dog unless I was prepared to take care of it. |

| I can understand that this girl really wants a yorkie. I mean I had dogs growing up as a kid. we always had dogs. But until i was old enought to take care of the dog 100% on my own, i wasnt allowed to have one. I think that it is great to want something so bad. But a yorkie is a special breed. They are very intelligent and they do have some serious health issues if you aren't careful. I dont want to fault this girl, but as I said in a previous post. I have wanted a yorkie since I was 12 and I am almost 30 now and just got one yesterday. I waited. I am so happy that I did too. |
