Donating YT 500 Club Member | There is a section here for puppies for sale. I don't know what you consider expensive, you will find yorkies in a wide price range - $600 to an average of probably around $1200. I would suggest you research the breeder you buy from and read extensively so as not to be taken in by those that are not reputable breeders. Good luck with your search.

| Hi and welcome to YT! There are a ton of great breeders here that can help you find your perfect puppy and point you in the right direction to an excellent breeder. I hope you find your perfect little guy soon!

| Good luck finding one at a reasonable price and be careful using the word teacup here, because there is no such thing. There are tiny ones and small ones. Try to specify the size you want your pup to stay when it reaches adulthood. Yorkies can be 2 to 7lbs and over. You may want to read up on yorkies online. Your wife will have to take extra care with the tiny ones as they are fragile. They can get stepped on, won't eat and bones break easy, etc. This is not saying they can't be healthy, there are some very informative breeders on here. Once you get your new puppy, make sure she introduces her new puppy on here. She can use your name, there is a lot of good information and advice given her. So research before buying, and try to check all breeders out and get references if possible. I think a yorkie would make a really nice V-Day present. If you want to talk private to a breeder or someone selling their pups, you can send them a private message. Good luck

| Just FYI, there is no such thing as a 'teacup' Yorkie. It's not an officially recognized variation of the breed. This is normally just a marketing term used by some breeders to jack up the price and get more $$$. Just be aware of this and be cautious of it when you are searching so that you don't get taken by someone. Good luck! |

| You might want to look for one thats going to be 5 or 6 llbs as an adult. The ones that are going to be tiny tend to be more expensive

| Hi there is a lot to consider when getting a "Teacup" such as hyperclycemia. I would search the YT forum under Teacup and do some research first before committing. Yorkies by standard are between five to seven pounds (Standard). The other problem is that when buying a pup NO ONE can actually project what size the pup will actually be when he/she is an adult. You may end up paying big bucks for what you think will be a Teacup and end up getting a standard size anyway. The only other way around this is if you were interested in adoptiong an older dog. I have thee Yorkies and all three are above what AKC consider standard size. My fourth pup I bought when she was older. She was almost nine months when I got her and she got just a bit bigger then she was. The stop growing around ten months to a year so getting a pup over nine months will give you a better idea as to not only size but temperment and look. If you are not opposed to getting an older pup or even an adult Yorkie you can check out Petfinder.com and also check out Yorkie rescues. Not only will you save $$ by adopting through an organization because most are adopted out already neutered or spayed and have all be vetted etc. and you'll also be rescuing a pup that needs a home. Just some food for thought. Good Luck. Elaine |
