Didn't know if you noticed or not, but he doesn't have any papers so if you are looking at him for breeding purposes, technically, when they don't have papers they are not supposed to be bred. If I got him I would have him neutered shortly after. | |

| Mom2Max. I've gone through the potty issures a few times. If you could just hold off and keep working with him I promise that he'd be a wonderful guy. It generally takes a good year to fully potty train a Yorkie. My male now ten years old is perfect. He does nothing ever in the house. It took a bit over a year. Also, is he neutered? I ask because they will mark if they are not. Anyway, I hope this works for you and Max. I live in Jersey or I'd take him right away. He is stunning. Elaine |

| BLONDIE: Yes i noticed he did not have papers, i do have ckc papers on mine but i have noticed that most people want them as pets and what i have been told and im not sure if it is true but that you can get a a pup registered ckc by just having so many witness sign off that he is in fact a purebred. now i can respect the fact she doesnt want him to be bred and will not pursue her for him..because i do want to breed one day i have been looking for a long time and will continue..i have 3 right now and i am in no rush to find something but if i am going to breed im not paying 500-700 dollars each time for a stud when i can purcahse one for the same price so i will take that money and save it for a male yorkie..but i kinda felt like you were trying to show yourself off as better because i was interested in breeding and you promise to have him fixed..and maybe you didnt mean it that way but thats how it looked..but why wouldnt you breed him if you can have the papers..he is goregous!! looks like a perfect breed quality pup... I wish you good luck on finding the right home or just working a little more w/ him on potty training...that is just something that comes w/ owning a small breed dog..all of mine are small breeds yorkies and yorkie mixes thay are much harder to potty train then larger, i had a rotti that i potty trained in just a few days at 9 weeks but the little ones are a lot of work..i say keep him and use the belly bands and you do have to remeber he's a boy and likes marking |

| well personally i just dont want him bred. the reason is for one he is a pet quality pup. yes he is gorgeous and has great qualities, and ive even been asked several times to breed him later on. but max doesnt have papers and IMHO dogs should be bred to improve the quality of the breed, not for profit. i know many many people that have akc dogs just for pets, i have a boston terrier that is registered but in no way would i breed him because he has a few faults, and that wouldnt benifit the breed. max is not fixed yet because my vet likes to wait until they are 6 months to do so, max will be 6 months the 14th. max is going to his new home tuesday.

| Hi Tammy, I'm sorry if you took my posting wrong. I wasn't trying to show off or anything, what I was saying was to anyone who got him, personally I'd have him nuetered and was just suggesting to whoever got him to have him neutered. I think it might help with the potty training issues as well as when I got Jaden I had him nuetered and he repsonded really well to the potty training. I wasn't trying to say anything against Max, because he is a beautiful dog and would certainly have beautiful puppies, but, I just read your post and though if you were looking at him for breeding purposes maybe you didn't notice that he didn't have papers so I wanted to let you know. Not trying to make myself look better or anything like that, just wanted to point it out to you. I personally don't have any problems with dogs that don't have papers for being pets but I do agree that breeding should be done with certain standards in mine that way a yorkie will always look like a yorkie . However, whether they are AKC, CKC, or nothing at all I love them all the same. Nothing beats a yorkie I do think you're making a smart decision if you do intend to breed to get your own stud. I don't breed but have seen some stud fee prices and they can be quite pricey! So, best of luck to you on finding a stud for your gorgeous Gidget ![]() I am glad to hear that Max found a great home! I am so happy for him and whoever is getting him! Maybe they can post pics on here once in a while so we can all see what he'll look like when he's all grown up ![]() Sorry for the misunderstanding I should've made myself more clear.Quote:
