Jazzy I understand what you are saying but honestly I think she should find the dog a home rather than breed a dog thats not to the standard and produce pups that are not to the standard. If it were me I would not have bred her in the first place. As a small breeder it is hard to place dogs that you have for a time. Thats the worst part in my opinion about being a breeder because I do love them all. However I have found that dogs that I have retired or not used for breeding ( staying to small) to very well in new homes. I keep in touch and get pictures of them and they are spoiled rotten and very loved. Some work in nursing homes and hospitals. 1 man spoke in a nursing home for the 1st time in 5 yrs and asked if he could hold that dog? I know that some breeders just throw the dogs out when they are no longer of use and that is very sad. The reality is that some of us breeders can't keep all of our dogs, and I don't feel it's far to have so many dogs that they don;t get 1 on 1 attention. I just had one of my dogs that I retired come for a visit to my home. She remembered me but Julie was her new mom now and was that. It kind of hurt my feelings to be honest , but am very happy for her. I have not had 1 person tell me this dog is not adjusting here! If that ever happened I would take the dog back in a heart beat and that is made VERY clear from the start. Breeding dogs is not for everyone and if you are in it just for the $$ shame on you and good luck becasue you don't make a lot. I do feel that this dog should be spayed before finding a new home. You might disagree with me as well , but just had to state my experiences with placing dogs. Happy Holidays to all

When you cross over and become a breeder the decisions are so challenging. You look at your litter and know that you cannot keep them all because that is rediculous and then you become a horder and thats a whole new dimension. I look back at the decisions I have made to remove a dog for what ever reason I always made sure that I found the best home. I do understand your reason that they were used as a service and you feel maybe well now you are not good enough. May be with some however ,there are many who loving put them up for adoption. That is when I cry the most is the adoption time. However, when I get the letters that one is a hospice animal staying with those as they cross over it brings tears to my eyes. The woman who adopted her felt that she could do this and she is with them from the moment they enter hospice until they cross over. They pet her and love her and she loves them. We are not cold and hard people we cry and say no keep the animal but when they go we know the homes are the best. I miss them dearly yes they are parts of me but not everything is meant to be kept. By giving you get. I gave and now she is touching the lives of many. It is a hard call but one that is necessary when you are striving towards your committment to the breed. When I say adoption that is what I mean the animal is fixed and for me I don't charge anything. My feelings if I am removing it from my breeding then I don't want her to breed I am committed to making sure that does not happen so on my end I make sure that is done.
