Well I do speak form persanl experience. I do find that begging show people are willing to share more info with me as they to by coincidence have gone through the same turn off as I. As far as them not wanting to help after what has been posted here it doesn't scare me in the least bit I have learn more on my own than i thought I would ever be able to. If speaking and writting what I feel disqualifies me than I wasn't mean to be qualified to begin with. Regarless of what I post there are still those same few will to offer help regardless. No, I personally do not know anyone in Alabama. Someone already posted all the YTCA names in Alabama. I would think you would have a few to choose from.

You can be sure that I am not one of those that places my dog with full reg to the well known , I dont want to place a dog with full reg period ! I have no desire to do that and I have too much on my plate to worry about the future of that dog ... I would much prefer to place my pets as loved pets. Where does this leave the others who want to get into the breed, hey do your homework , sweat the tiniest little details , go to every show , dedicate to the breed, before ever owning one- earn it ! I did , and still do , and hope I continue to .... if you wanted to be something other than the label BYB - stop , learn listen make changes , and stick to the importance of this breed, educate and learn all at the same time, and stop thinking as a pet person with the thought of sales foremost and the thought of genetics exhibition and health secondary . Does the average BYB think of all of those issues before placing that 3000 price tag on that 1.5 pound dog ?? Or do they think of all the places they can advertise that 1.5 pound dog for the most profit ? and where can they get the next 3 pound bitch to breed so they can make them small and cute and worthy ? I am 7 years in yorkies - and made mistakes , and made plenty of changes - 7 years ! talk to me once you invest that time and effort - before that I was 10 years in animals and showing and veterinary meds - I think I can hold my own

I am sorry this has happened to your friends! YES Prestigeous Yorkies should take the male they are advertising here and place with your friends in Canada. Will it happen probably not.

I have a dog in my home that was imported by Prestigeous Yorkies. She was sold for double what they paid for her, her quality is awful and the story goes on and on! Not only that but the show breeders of her was promised back a pick of the litter puppy which they will never receive. She was also advertised in full coat and was shipped with her coat shaved off to the skin.

SO NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE DEALING WITH MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND YOU CHECK THEM OUT!

I thorugh some flowers earlier on Prestigous in this thread but it is obvious they have done some very unethical things. How would any of us ever know if you all didn't share the information. After being aware of these kind of things it steers us in the right direction and away from those we mistaking believe to be correct.:animal36

As for lining their pockets , well I can tall you they have lined their pockets with these peoples cash at the early age of 4 weeks old , and that was when the puppy was determined to be show - HMMM other than that there is a dog out there that is 2.2 pounds , shakes all the time, does not meet the standard for showing let alone breeding, was sold whole for HSOW no less, and is not registered! So send this 5 pound male to Canada ! I am sure those that worry night and day about the dog and the health issues and the registration would sure appreciate closure - and seeing as there is this wonderful male NOW AVAILABLE - this would be the correct thing to do -'

I do not feel any need to "back up" my reply. You can take it or leave it it makes no difference to me. But I will say that I took the time to get to know the show exhibitors that I do know. I find that to be the best way. Do I expect that if I call and say I want to breed yorkies that they are going to open their doors? Of course not! BUT if I call and say I am interested in showing yorkies I think the door will open. As I am willing to learn.

I don't think anyone with common sense would approach in such way. That would be very un tactful.

You need to include the whole story the person that got this dog altered the vets record claiming this was a sick dog when they got it.
Yes indeed, I got the real records directly from the her vet in Oklahoma when I called them and told them that the ones she sent were not legible and our lawyer believed they were altered as did we and we were correct.
so always make sure you get your records directly from the vet on one of your pups because people are altering vet records to claim a breeder sent a sick dog!!!
As for a contract with the original breeder there was no contract on the dog we bought don't know what you are talking about that is simply a lie!
So wrong and yes our lawyer has all the records on file so for you to keep this going is just ridiculous. I still have a copy of everything also.

I truly do not understand why it is so hard for people to tell the truth. I do agree with most of what you have stated. But YES you have placed a dog on FULL REGISTRATION with a hobby breeder in Ohio. The dog's name is CANDY. Does that ring a bell?

Like I stated I am not on either side. But if you are going to state something it should be honest and not made to make you look more reputable.

I can not recall saying I defend the BYB...but I certainly defend the serious hobby breeder who does not show. (why, because where I lived in the UK, a reputable, ethcial breeder was respected whether they showed or not) ..infact that is how I started..breeding and not showing.

Morris Howard, (Trivar) who was Johnny's companion (Johnny was the Prez of YTCA for many years, (whatever happened in the Yorkie world Morris and Johnny were the kings and few opposed them) Morris did not like me because I took no crap from him. He could be very mean and nasty to nice people who showed an interest in Yorkie...but that was Morris's problem..I have a difficult time with mean spirited people and Morris was one.

Odd thing was...he never interferred with Johnny and myself when it came to selling me potential beeding stock and stud service. Johnny was the oppoiste to Morris...he helped the novice.
Later in Morris's life I did see a softer side...he actually started talking to me at handling classes and never stopped my membership to his regional club, YTCNC...
After Morris's death, Johnny filled out a sponsor application for me to join YTCA...that meant the world to me, but I told Johnny.."I am ethcial whether I showed or not..now that I show, it does not suddenly change who I am and have always been..and I declined his invite"..and that is the truth as to how it happened..
I have been thrown off forums for defending the serious, non-showing fancier...but that has nothing to so with YTCA.

All I am going to add to this is: Was the dog advertised in full coat as show quality? YES. Was it shipped in full coat? NO Was the dog show quality? NO.

Deana you have some beautiful dogs and I know that you have worked hard for what you have. And YES Dovercastle I have seen David in the showring with one of Deana's yorkies!

All I am stating is everyone makes mistakes, we all just need to live up to them and go on.

It is sure human nature to make mistakes - it is how we deal with them afterwards - so if the dog with the shaved coat and the altered health issue is worth replying to then could you PLEASE reply about the Canadians who have that tiny male ? please tell us the sdolution to that , and let us pray it does not involve a lawyer - that line can go on and on

The dog you keep speaking of we asked that they return him and they refused to do so.
If this boy was full owned by us I would send him to get the pup back that didn't make the cut.
As for the pup being placed as show quality sorry thats not true, show quality is only one that has been introduced into the ring and has proven they have the attitude and everything for it thats show quality.
Show hopeful is one that you think may have a chance wether you are making judgement from a number of things, previous breeding of same sire and dam, pedigree and the pup.
I do and have taken pups back on something as simple as I don't like the type. Because I don't want mine to be in a home that isn't happy with them.
I bought my first show dogs at 12 weeks with a one week health guarantee 2 made it one didn't do you think I was ever offered a replacement NO and do you think I would expect one NO, when I took a gamble at 12 weeks there is no way I could know or the breeder could know that it would indeed make it as show. Showing would be so easy if we were handed a champion each and everytime, there is hard work behind and years of getting there on each and every one.

Again as for the pup I have told them to send him back and they choose not to.
I have bought a show bitch at 1 year old and was on CO-Ownership to Ch this girl. I took her out and was laughed at, well I was doing my part of the contract she was very high in the rear and dogs that had been shown for a year without ever winning were winning now against us.., when I asked the breeder about it she signed off and didn't make me show her. She promised a discount on next dog I buy, well I didn't buy another one, I did spay this one and gave her to my sister, this dog was also listed on this breeders page as a Champion for years and she never earned her first point. It has not been an easy road but I have been fair and to be treated like I have on this board is just another part of the bad when showing and breeding. I have seen it so many times over and over with other breeders etc. Its a shame.
I do have a litter due out of my older Ch Male that I have told the breeder in CA about if they wanted to get a pup out of.
I did have one breeder that gave me a pup when I had health issues with one I got from them, but other than that I have never been given a replacement for squat.

You have in the contract that the dog must be shown to his CH - so you obviously took this dog to be more than show prospect right ? And you have asked them to send the dog back and that you would sell it as so many like small dogs , and that you would deposit some money after you do so - correct ?? Who would feel comfortable with this ? Did you send them the dog before they gave you all of the money at 6 weeks ? NO I think not ! There is also the issue of registration and identification correct? So I think that they have done all they are to do , and in turn they should get this male rather than have to wait - send them this male and then you can have the small male back to resell as you indicated you would like to do ? This issue has been going on with out resolc=ve for some time now - this is the best way for you to rectify it IMHO
