I can see a few posts on the first page that all it says is "this post was deleted by fasteddie." I'm assuming those are the posts that contained the attacks. I think the pup is beautiful and hope that you can find him a forever home soon. |
Jmo Okay, I am going to open my BIG mouth...with all the people begging for puppies, waiting lists, referrals from club members, referrals from past buyers..why do reputable breeders need to come to a pet oriented forum to sell their dogs? I just do not understand...I am semi retired two years ago and can not keep up with emails and calls for puppies, I hate to ignore people and try to refer them...and all my breeder friends tell me the same...most have long lists for all types of Yorkies, pets, show and breeding...it just surprises me to see a show or serious hobby breeder need to advertize here. |

is my name at the top of YOUR list by any chance ??? ...:dogwalk: :p |
list Vee..believe me it is not just me...when I talk to club members they say they can never have enough pups or adults to make the public happy, people get mad having to wait, who wants to breed non-stop, not me..and Rini is flooded with calls also.. |

the YTCA code of ethics merely states: 9) A member’s advertising: - shall be professional in appearance and location; - shall not refer to YTCA membership to attempt to enhance integrity or the quality of stock; - shall not contain any misleading photograph or other graphic materials; and - shall not use terms as “teacup”, “tiny specialists”, doll faced, or similar terminology. There are many show breeders that are members here and merely because of this thread it is rumored she is now blacklisted! The YTCA yorkie police at their best! perhaps they should read again their own mission statement: A member shall not defame another member nor seek to impair a member’s reputation, provided, however, a member shall report any serious situation that is detrimental to the breed or is inconsistent with these principles. |
pups Reread my post....I did not say there was anything wrong in advertizing..I said I could not understand the NEED to so now in 2006..and especially this time of year..people come out of the woodwork... I have a web site..rather old and outdated..but still working..never posted a picture in all these years of any pups for sale..there is no need, people find the site, read that I breed and they call..they ask to be put on a list..the truth is, for the last 5 years I have placed almost no pups/adults with strangers..everything has gone to previous buyers or their families. Any regional club member can call the referral person for their club and find buyers without advertizing anywhwere...I assume most show breeders belong to a club, correct??? |

I recently visited several YTCA members websites only to find many have puppies listed for sale and upcoming litter announcements. I am not talking a picture of a typical puppy from their breeding but an actual puppy available, the reason theyre posted is clear, theyre available, what happened to the wait list or YTCA referal or their network? There is another show breeder advertizing two AKC champion studs for sale on their site (for an enormous amount of money I may add)....what is the difference whether they use this media, their website or AKC classified, referal, wait list? |
Kim, I have no knowledge of anyone being blacklisted, but I can assure you one simple post on this forum wouldn't be the cause of such action, there would have to be many other circumstances and reasons for a member to be "blacklisted" as you say.. However, I will voice my opinion regarding advertising, and how it is being interpreted, then I'm going to bow out of this thread, as I don't like digging holes deeper than I can climb out of. You quoted 9) A member’s advertising: - shall be professional in appearance and location; I think that is where the problem lies. YT Forum is not considered to be a "professional location" I have had discussion regarding this opinion because I too had posted an older neutered boy on here that I thought I was going to have trouble placing (simply because he was older, not a puppy), My thoughts were that a reputable breeder should "advertise" in just the same places as those who stuck their two flea market or pet store dogs together and got puppies they now want to sell, and everyone else in between those two extreems, so the public could be not only educated that not everyone does things that way, but also so that there is the CHOICE to buy a healthy, nice quality dog, versus what we often see posted here. Without options of "bad and good", people don't learn to make good choices, does that make sense? I discovered that I had made a mistake in posting my puppy here, not that he didn't find the most WONDERFUL home a puppy could ever have (thank you every day from the bottom of my heart, Terri!) but because it was not professional of me, and that is not the image I choose to reflect..so I learned that lesson. Now, the difference is, the puppy I placed was from my 2nd litter EVER.. An established breeder should have such a waiting list, they wouldn't need to advertise..their quality of dogs, and ethics should be the only advertisement they need...and I think that is the opinion of the people who have issues with advertisements such as these. I want to point out, I am not bashing anyones right to advertise on YT.. I'm just stating what I am learning to be true. Quote:

site Prestigious has a lovely web site and you can not have that many show dogs and not have contacts in the dog world... I guess I am used to breeders helping each other and they do not have to come to pet oriented forums to sell show potentials...or even pets. |
WOW!!! He is gorgeous! I love dark coats. :) I hope he finds his forever home soon! As stunning as he is it shouldn't be hard.:) |
I forgot to add that sometimes the all mighty $$$ makes us do things that we later regret and wish we had not done. |

If more "reputable" breeders were actually willing to aid the "Novice" instead of blowing smoke, preaching the standard BUT not helping them improve or even worse asking for their next born child as collateral perhaps the "out of the standard yorkie" wouldnt exist! What a thought! |
