Which post are you asking to copy?

What an interesting thread. I know some people are looking at this as a 'debate' or attack - and others are looking at it as full of information. I happen to be in the 2nd catagory...:) When someone wants to sell yorkies ONLINE, possibly to a member here - we SHOULD speak up. Especially if things just don't seem kosher. (selling puppies very young) I only wish I had a site like this back 4-1/2 years ago when I was looking for my 1st yorkie.

For those who jump in upset about the posts....This site is TAME compared to others I've seen on the net - I get tired of people saying YT bashes people - With the THOUSANDS of posts on a daily basis - this site is far from a 'bash' site. Try to look at the information here and remember how many people may be reading that have NO idea what to look for in a puppy.

IF someone sells Yorkies way too young on a public site and no one said anything - that seems to me like an endorsement - and next thing we'll be seeing is more and more For Sale ads just like this one.

Chipperdancing - Good luck selling your puppies :) I do think you're selling them too young - but I have no room to talk - I bought my Chanel at 6 weeks...all I can say is I hope you find someone experienced with young TINY puppies - I was clueless & because of that I almost lost her the 1st week I had her. (she had coccidia but at 1 lb. she easily could have died)

THIS comment above bears repeating - I totally agree - :thumbup: don't know about the ratio but we sure are seeing way too many sick or dying puppies - both with LS AND hypoglycemia/seizures....and speaking from experience - only for the Grace of God did Chanel survive her first few weeks with me - if it wasn't for a middle of the night SCARY Trip to emergency I wouldn't have her now :(

and I wasn't trying to preachy....but this IS a discussion Board - If someone wants to read straight FOR SALE ADS - they can read Petfinder.com ....which I HOPE YT would never emulates

Well it wont be long then til we get posts on the "sick" thread of people with their new puppies who have NO CLUE how to care for them. :(

Very true, which will be followed by a thread of complaining about a bad breeder who sold them sick puppies. Funny how people who have done their homework rarely have these problems and when they do they are back by their breeder, by their vet and are prepared....

Hopefully this thread will educate someone, people ar ein such a rush to find a great deal on a puppy they do not stop to think that this "cheap" puppy will end up costing them 5 x' s as much in vet bills and much more heartache.

What blows my mind is how soemone declares that they "know" that puppies are fine when they leave at 5-6 weeks...ahh hello??? Did you go to vet school?? DO you have years of research backing up this theory???? Personally I believe the vets have more knowledge on puppy rearing and socialization and the large poster on their wall states that puppies are best left with their mothers till 12 weeks regardless of breed!!

Chipper, you see upset. I'm sorry and I really hope that you have learned to do the right things for your breeding program and your puppies and mom. I don't think those here mean to be hurtful but are upset at your excuses and maybe perhaps feel you are showing a lack of care or responsibility. Please do the right thing and all the best to you and your puppies.

If this doesn't sound sarcastic, I don't know what does. Maybe next time you should post your 5 week old puppies on a website where people are idiots and they will purchase them. We, here at YT, know better than that. Some might have gone that route once, but we've all learned and know better. I'm sure you will still continue selling them early. If you have any compassion at all, you would stop selling them so early. The puppy and the new owners are the ones that have to suffer. The puppy is usually sick and the owners suffer the loss of the baby because the so called "breeder" thought they can drop the puppies expenses on someone else or they just didn't care. :thumbdown

How about closing this thread now? We got her point(although we disagree) and she got our point (although she disagrees). Let's move on, shall we? :)

Bottom line......I wouldn't do it or support any breeder that does....no matter how much "show potential" that is implied.

So, I will continue to search....LOL

5 to 6 wks is to young to sell. I agree with everyone else on this.

This is absolutely eye-opening! Thank you so much for this Post! I don't have my Yorkie yet.....but when I do....the first thing I'm going to do is yank it straight from the whelping box, and tie it to a piece of grass Sod!

I"m so grateful to you....and shame on all of the rest of you so-called "respectable breeders"! I've always been suspicious of your pathological selfish refusal to release your pups! Three to four months old! Who are you kidding?

I for one think the joking at this person has gone on long enough. Your points have been made. We are true rednecks out here in my area of NC and we wouldn't have found this to be darn dam nitted funny. This girl was un-educated on how to rear pups obviously. She shouldn't be made into a public specatacle because of it. I'm sure she is much the wiser now after this. I knows out here in the deep NC territory we'in's don't let em go so soon but we understan that thars alot of people who don know no better and we try to hep em'. I hope she got the education and help she needed. From her last few post(s)s it appears she understands. So she should be left alone. Do you all have nothing better to do?

I don't know how WHERE someone is from became an issue (its not) .....but as far as I'm concerned....the behavior of individuals who DO know better in regard to the treatment of young pups...and then proceed to use derogatory verbage toward other Breeders, and post false and misleading information, under the guise of knowledge, are guilty of irresponsible behavior.

Ignorance deserves pity and education. Arrogant disregard for the hard work and ethics of others, and the welfare of those small lives they have a moral obligation to protect , deserves a very big mirror held in front of their eyes.

If I had seen even a spec of sincere contrition, I would have been the first one to step up to the plate in their defense. I'm still waiting.....cap and bat in hand....

"Where" you are from had nothing to do with any of this where I'm concerned. Weren't you and others joking about the redneck thing? I have a yearly chicken stew that over 75 true blue "red necks" attend and have a blast. I could care less about those comments and made it clear, lol.

I do think the fun-poking at this paticular person is un called for and overly used thus far . Or too damn over done in our terms here in NC.
