Area codes are diff to call...I would for sure question them on that if your interested in their site! Could be fine though.....you never know! That's why it's always nice to go with a breeder that others have used or at least know.

A color is just that ,a color, If the dog in question came from great breeders that had generations of great dogs then to me it is quite safe. The parti yorkies are AKC registered.
All dogs at some point in time were crossed to get a certain breed. Thats how you get new breeds in AKC. I remember when black and white wasnt allowed in the Brittanys and now it is accepted also the irish setter allowed no white spots , today there is the red and white setter. My point is Good bred dogs are good bred dogs no matter what the color. If someone takes the time and patience to do their research and find the best breeder and one who has done the research and bred extremely exceptional dogs then I see nothing wrong with color just because its different than what AKC allows at the time. Because in a few years AKC will change its mind it usually does when the demand makes them.

Breezeaway: The Biewers have a standard: They have to have 3 colors on their head, (in good symetry) the legs, chest and tummy are white, and the tail is not docked, and the tip of their tail has to be white. The parti yorkies -- although some may carry the same markings, are not from the German lines. Parti's can be registered with AKC under the Parti color (as explained in another post) Their parents have to be AKC. Although I don't not know the genetics -- it's a possibility that it's the same gene.

MEGA DITTOS and well said! "We put functional soundness above everything else whether the dog goes afield or spends his life curled in someone's lap." This quote was the first statement on a site with detailed yorkshire terrier standard. A healthy pup is much more important than if it correctly meets the AKC standard for color. Unless you are showing, color should not matter, search for breeders that care more about their dogs health. The suggestion that off color yorkies is a genetic defect and may effect their health should be taken with a grain of salt. I suggest that pups meeting the correct standards face the same potential health problems as those who do not meet the standards for color. AKC standards for color is guideline for competition and I don't care to argue the point. Somewhere down the line, AKC will be accepting blond, red, chocolate, etc. yorkies just as they have parti yorkies. But that will not happen until there are sufficient numbers of "different" than the current standards to warrant the change.

My knowlege (upon MUCh reading) is they are considered "irresponsbile" because they are not the standard color. However, there is no additional health concerns for any color anomally except the "blue born".

Akc Accepts them, so I think it's only a matter of time befor ytca gets on board. Probably have to wait for the old timers to retire. Some people don't like change.

I have certainly questioned that , I have sent an email to both yorkie power and crownridge ..........Why must it be so hard to get a baby without all the scammers. Crownridge has a waiting list is why i opted to try to find one other than theirs. Please forgive me. I feel the 2 most trusted are Crownidge and Summit both are wonderful for the Partis, and I just sold my horse today so I could purchase one. sniff sniff

Thank you V... I have waited for almost a year for her -- and I'm so happy and in love with her! Took Toby a little while to get used to the idea, but he's playing with her more and more each day! I can't wait to see how she will look when she gets older!
