| Looking for Yorkie in VA I am looking for a breeder in the Northern VA area. We are ready for a dog and would love to get a Yorkie of either sex. I have a very responsible 8 year old daughter who at this moment is reading any book she can get hold of on Yorkie/puppy care! Would love to acquire one soon as to get the most training time in during the summer months. I also have 3 or 4 neighbors who have recently acquired different kinds of puppies and would love for ours to start playing with them! Thanks JM |

Welcome & Good Luck in your search. IMO, not all dogs need someone there all the time. Lots of people have yorkies that work or are in school and gone all day.

| I know I didn't mean to come off like that! What I meant was if they wanted a dog and had a child I just thought that maybe there wouldn't be enought attention love and time for the dog!! But I'm not in that situation so I wouldn't know!

I understand. It would be hard for a baby to be use to someone being there all summer and then have a hard dose of reality when school starts again.

| I'm a teacher and work about 15 minutes away from home. I am planning to come home at lunch. Most of my neighbors are stay at home moms (for both kids and dogs). They are willing to help out during the day. Isn't there some quote that states "It takes a village to raise a puppy" |

| Try the YTCA(yorkshire terrier Club of America/breeders) website. We have a few reputable breeders in Va and most of them are in N. Va. They are all listed in there I believe. Good Luck !! |

| Sorry, posted on wrong thread - I almost went to see a pup today. Okay this person did not work out. She would only let me go visit the puppies if I was going to buy them today. She is caretaker for a member of her family and doesn't really have the time. I understand that, but I am not buying without looking. Her place was relatively close and I would have gone today with my daughter and if I liked the place return with my husband at a later date. It was hard to communicate with her and questions were left unanswered. Oh well, I will keep trying. The right dog is out there for us. Maybe he or she might just find us.
