All pups will be up to date with shots and worming with a certificate of health from our veterinarian. Mother is AKC/UKC registered Dad is UKC registered.

That's not fair, you've made me hungry and given me the wants! If he was AKC, I'd do what ever I had to get him, even stand on a street corner although at almost 60, I doubt if I'd get many takers.

OK, now I'm really getting desperate. I have 5 little girls 10 weeks old. We are keeping one, trading one for another female, and one is sold. If I had both of the other two sold, we could talk. It's not like that I need another male as we kept Dinky from the last litter, he is almost totally black, but I am so in love. I saw your pictures posted on the nursery last month and he took my breath away. Do you know if AKC would recognize the UKC registration? Feel free to PM at any time............

why did the price for male jump from 900 to 2000

They are two different boys from two different litters. I believe the boy that is 2000 is chocolate.

The chocolate colored little boy is the one thats 2000 the black and tan boy is 900. I really didnt mean to list them both in the same thread :doh:

I can't stop thinking about him. He's all I talked about at work today. Yes, it will be very hard to pass him up but have to get my females sold first and still waiting for the balance on two that were already sold earlier this year. All I can do is hope there isn't someone else out there as crazy about him as I am. I've wanted a chocolate one for a long time and also a gold one and red/burgundy one. I know, I don't want much! I had the opportunity last March to get an all gold one, born that way, but by the time we got to FL, all the pups had died, at least that is what the breeder told us. I did see pictures of the gold puppies from birth, so I'm certain they were born that way. She also had a red one and offered me that one but before we could get there, apparently some lawyer offered her $5000 for the pup....so she claimed. We ended up getting Feebie. I was really disappointed with her as she grew, but we love her too much to get rid of her. She just had her first litter, one little girl. Now I have to wait to see what kind of puppies she can make. Just a side note, I would not go back to that breeder again. We say we rescued Feebie as the breeder had all her dogs de-barked. I would love to raise show dogs but I simply do not have the time to show. Some may consider me as not an ethical breeder as I want to go with different colors than the "yorkie standards". But then, I have always been considered as one who follows the beat of a different drummer. Boy am I long winded tonight. I better start looking for that special slinky outfit to stand on the street corner.....as long as they don't see my face and I can stuff my bra, I might be able to pull it off. :yay_jump: I'm an artist by trade. I've always said God gave me talented hands, if he had given me boobs, I might have been in a different profession.......... :sidesplt:

The parents are (mom) black/tan and (dad) a blonde color. Ive posted pictures of the parents on here before I think. Lemme see if I can dig some up now.

the "chocolate" puppy is not chocolate..he will be colored like the father, gold all over. In order to be a brown or chocolate color in any breed, you must have liver pigmentation, which he doesn't. Picture of true, equally incorrect, chocolate shown below.

HUH? anything but blue and gold (starting as black and tan) is incorrect, meaning, gold, brown or blue born are all incorrect. So, my question is why is the incorrectly colored puppy for sale for $2K, and the assumingly correct colored puppy for $950?

Because the "correct" color as you call it is the norm. You can find blue & gold yorkies all over the place, everyday. The brown pup is 2K for just that reason because he is brown and not the "norm". I assume you feel that only the pups that are the "standard" colors should be sold.

No I think any puppy deserves a good home, just those who are not per the standard should be much cheaper, not more expensive.

So I can get one! LoL but the reality is everything is based on supply and demand. I see these blondes etc..going for like $5000 so to me $2000 is expensive but not nearly as expensive as I have seen them go for.

Dazzlin- I can see both sides to this because if you think about it, if these "incorrect" colored yorkies were cheaper, there would be a ton more being bred all over the place.?! It could be happening anyway but at least they are harder to buy??( my only thougt). I would rather see these colors than the chocos myself but I have seen actually more and more Chocolates for sale-:confused: (which I think are cute but I probably wouldn't buy myself) :D The blondes etc, can be traced to one of the original ancestors but I am not sure the light pigment nose, eye etc..can be traced...? Just babblin now-cuz I am no expert at all. :rolleyes:

I don't think $2000 is totally out of the world but I am in CA! Not cheap here.:p

I can very well understand a chocolate colored yorkie being more expensive. Just like parti yorkies that are twice as expensive as the normal blue and gold. I think it all has to do with the fact that a chocolate, blonde, etc, are not seen as often as the regular blue and gold yorkie. Same temperment, same size, same body structure, the only thing that is different is the coloring. Several people like to have a yorkie that is different and the coloring makes it unique. You are going to pay more for something that is more scarce than something that you can find easily and is everywhere. Just like you are going to pay more for a biewer than a regular yorkie.

I would love to take the chocolate boy, but I don't have the money.:( Although I am hoping Linda can get him and add him to her program.:)

Has anyone considered the thought that they might be scarce because they don't adhere to the standard? What do you think the point of the standard is? Has it occurred to anyone that the point of a standard is so that a yorkie will look like a yorkie? A brown, red, blue born, solid gold, parti, black soft coated, etc. are nothing more than a genetic flaw or variance, not rare, not special..and those who cultivate these colors on purpose are not doing a darn thing but padding their pockets, they certainly aren't helping this breed as a whole. A standard is written for a breed for a REASON. Our standard has been in place for many many decades with very little variation, certainly none on color. If a breeder doesn't give a HOOT about the standard of the breed in which they are creating puppies, WHY are they breeding? I can see only one answer, for money...certainly not for the betterment of the breed.
