Puppy wanted in Central CA area (Fresno) My husband and I are looking for an affordable Yorkshire Terrier puppy, with good temperment, for a pet. We live in the Fresno area and would be willing to travel to come pick it up, approximately 200 miles for the right one. Any help and pictures would be appreciated. Thanks. Tim & Jamie Finnen

As a responsible person I cannot let the puppies go to a forever homes until 12 weeks old. At that time pictures and prices along with more accurate predictions are more realistic. Some people sell puppies before they are born. Some sell them at different ages and make all kinds of forecasts. We all know it is not scientific and educated assumptions are the best anyone can promise. As far as the distance, many people travel 10 times further. It is an individual choice. None of this should be frustrating.

as an educated buyer and would-be forever home to one loved and pampered puppy, and with the gas prices the way they are, i can't realistically be expected to drive 200 miles roundtrip to visit puppies by a breeder who refuses to respond to basic inquiries like "do you have the parents onsite?" and "what are the parents' stats?". i personally would like some basic information available before i make a trip out and prefer not to approach it blind. i personally don't quite understand why a younger pup cannot be photographed just to give an interested buyer some perspective on the puppies that are available. providing pictures doesn't mean they're available to take home now. but that's my opinion. and you're right, at 12 weeks, a more realistic estimate of adult weight can be provided, while anything forecasts made before then are merely educated assumptions. but you claim that you're using "doubling the 12 week weight" as your determining factor for your puppies adult weight. which is why i asked, how can that realisticaly be done if the puppies are not 12 weeks yet? it's logically not possible. so the 3-4 lb adult estimate must either be determined using a different method other than doubling the 12 week weight OR it's simply a wild guess.

The mother is 4.5 lbs and the father is 3 lbs. The mother is with us and the father is in the next city. This should not be frustrating. If you can find a pup 20 miles away from you home this would be you best bet. I bet most people on this forum had to travel further, or ship the pups across country. Yet these are things outside of our control. We are betting one male will be 3 lbs. While the others are a bit larger.

you're right, it shouldn't be frustrating. i think a seller should be able either provide the informatin as the buyer's requested or just tell the buyer the information is not available at this time. not go through several rounds, for a buyer to drag basically information out of a seller. but that's just my humble opinion. you've mistaken my hesitation to visit your puppies due to your distance from me and that's not the case at all. my hesitation is derived from your reluctance to provide information regarding the puppies under your care. i'm planning to make a 200 mile round trip drive this weekend to visit a puppy i'm interested in. i'm willing to make that drive because the seller has provided me with information and responded to all my inquiries and based on the information provided, i believe we can be a good match. some people may blindly purchase a puppy from a breeder with no questions asked. to me, that's no better than purchasing from a petstore. i prefer to screen the breeder and will expect the breeder to screen me as a good home for the puppy as well. although i prefer to stay local, for the right puppy, i'd be willing to fly out to pick it up and fly back. others may act differently, but this is just my personal feelings about it.

I understand the frustration and I am not even searching for a puppy to purchase. Here on YT there is a correct procedure for posting puppies that "breeders" have for sale. Posting remarks comparing the small size of your puppies on others' threads is not a considerate thing to do. Anyone that has puppies for sale should go to "puppies for sale" area and post a legitimate thread. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5459

I have read allot of gator 7 posts, all questions here in this thread have been questions I too have been asking myself about this breeder. I am a breeder too, my pups estimated adult size is just that estimated. I do not in any way state their adult size or guess until they are 10 -12 weeks old. Then again two small parents can produce a larger puppy. Yes I posted my pups in the proper thread that YT prefers. I have pics of both parents and pups from being whelped to being placed. When one asks me questions I do my very best to answer them, All out there if you ask a breeder a question and it is not answered to your expectation. Look for another breeder. Those questions that are not answered to your expectation will "Haunt" you always. There are plenty of Breeders and puppies out there. FYI my Lily Belle is expecting this JUNE!!!!

Hi, Gracy~ From your reply, I sense that you should be a responsible breeder. I live in Irvine, CA, and I am looking for a small size more doll looking yorkie. Where are you located? Do you have a website or pictures that I can take a look? & How much will you sell a yorkie for? (since you mentioned that your yorkie's expecting in June) Thank you so much~
