Nancy - You are so right. I guess I assume too much that people should know this. It is hard to go back. So many people are breeding now and have no clue what they are doing. There is a lot of educating that needs to go on. Just because a yorkie or any dog has papers does not mean that it is going to be close to standard. You must make sure the breeder knows the standard and has their dogs evaluate to be breed worthy (including tests).
And yes, I have seen people asking too if their dog is purebred when their coat does not grow, they are the wrong colors, size question, etc... One can breed of quality and one can breed and get different polar examples of the breed. This thought comes to mind - "Buyer Beware." One needs to educate themself on the breed.

It's still really easy for me to remember when I knew nothing! By the way, I love your avatar, the one picture of the Yorkie walking with its nose in the air is priceless! Absolutely captures the Yorkie essence!

Thanks Nancy! That's my Tootsie! She is out of my male that just finished and which made her grandsire a ROM now. She is 15 months in that picture and now just 17 months. She had been in the ring twice (one weekend show) and loves it! She is my sweetie pie!! Xoxo
