The babies are just precious! You go girl and don't let some of the negative comments on this board discourage you or hurt your feelings. I love tinies, 3 pound and under is what I want and I don't care who thinks it's people like me that need, want, and adore people like you are as bad and worse!

I cannot imagine HOW REPUTABLE breeders do that . Sorry, I think we have a different idea about what reputable breeder is.
I contacted some good breeders from other states, they told me:" sorry, try to find a breeder in your state. we do NOT ship our babies"
From my experience, only BYB/puppy mills like to do that. Those who breed for MONEY.
and BTW, how people can buy without even seen puppies? I don't buy even clothes over internet. But this is alive puppy!!! How they can buy without seen its temperament, health, etc. I cannot even imagine

My husband is a very well known breeder pf Field Champion Beagles. We have shipped all over the United States and once even out of the country but we won't ever ship out of the country again. That is too hard on the dogs. We always ship counter to counter. In fact I just got back from shipping to New York a few minutes ago. We are not all about the money. We have lists that sometimes are two years long because of our dogs bloodlines. We are reputable breeders of about thirty years. We are not a puppy mill. Of course i realize that Yorkies are a lot more fragile than Beagles. As far as seeing the parents and all that, I send pedigrees and pictures of litters and mom and dad out on the internet every day. people know what they are getting. Also, word of mouth about my husband's program puts him and his dogs at the top of the list for many people. It takes years to build a good solid reputation as a breeder and a lot of hard work. We have had people on vacation driving thru our area and go out of their way to visit our farm and meet my husband because of his reputation in the Beagle world. So pleae, no blanket statements that breeders who ship are bad. it's just like anything else, you have your good and bad ones and it is YOUR responsibility to know the difference when you buy a pup.

Thanks! I am a novice yorkie owner but do plan to breed in the future. I have a lot to learn and am learning every day from this great site. Altho my breeding program won't start for a couple of years (unless I can find a female already about six months to a year old to raise with Ceeby) I already have my mentor lined up. She lives twenty minutes away from me and is a fabulous breeder. I am also hoping my wonderful husband will be a help to me. But he is soo funny. he thinks the yorkie puppies and dogs are the same as beagles. I keep telling him these yorkies don't work the way his hounds do!!!!!!!!

I have been busy the last couple of days ( more puppies) & what a nice surprise to see the favorable responses. I was pretty down about the negative remarks, but things are looking up. Will have pics up asap. Thanks again.

I currently have two yorkies which are considered "tiny".... My Jasmine is currently 2 pounds, 12 ounces (over 13 months old).... My Butch is 5 months old today... and about 2 pounds, 2 ounces. They were both shipped to me and from different places and both arrived clean, happy and healthy.

My Poo-Pom Winnie, who is 8 pounds.... which to me is bigger.... was also shipped way back when and arrived in a rusty, stinky crate.... so.....
I don't think the size of the puppy has anything to do with shipping... IT IS THE BREEDER.

The smallest I bred was 4.75 pounds and I waited until her 3rd heat before I bred her the first time. Now she is 5.10. She was my only free whelper. I was a nervous wreck though. I couldn't imagine going with smaller.

Although I do not agree nor would ever breed a female as tiny as your Linda. I do know that if you have generation after generation of smalls you can do it successfully. Line breeding is probably the way to go to be 100% certain about size. Line breeding doesn'thave to be as close as father and daughter to achieve this from what I was told. But you do have to know what you're doing.

Anywhoo...just wanted to say I've seen it done successfully with healthy tiny pups born, but it's not my cup-O-tea.

I have seen line bred & imo they produce frail hyper dogs & locked in traits good & bad. I would not want to do this.
