She is precious. I hope you find the perfect home for her. |
She certainly is a precious one. Are you the breeder? If not, who is the breeder of this lovely lady. |
a deposit has been placed on Izzy so she is no longer for Sale. Thanks to everyone for their kind words... |
So sweet!!! :) |
Disappointed and Frustrated I had to stay offline for a day just to calm down over this ordeal! This was one of the most frustrating interactions I have EVER had concerning a pup! I fell in love with the picture PrinceHenry posted on another thread saying Izzy was for sale. I immediately visualized a similar sized-playmate to run and play with my Annie. I wrote immediately and then called as soon as she gave her phone number! That is how excited I was. I had not been looking for another puppy, had not even decided to add another! But her picture just spoke to me and it said, "Come get me Momma!" I told Rebekah I wanted Izzy but needed to slow down a little and ask some questions. That is where the problems started! I never got my medical questions answered! I also found different stories about the price. She said she paid $2200 for Izzy. I said she must have an impressive predigree for that money, & she said agreed. She said she was asking $1000as she did not want tomake money on her. Actually she said she would advertise $1000 OBO and go from there. I told her I thought that was reasonable for a good pedigree 15 month pup that was already spayed and house-trained. She said she got along well with other dogs. I asked about her medical history and all I got was she had been spayed and a "slew of tests" were done at that time but she did not know what. I told her I was most interested in finding out about bile acid testing and LP/joint health, etc. No answer. She said she would send me pictures. I told her I would write down more questions. She said if I had doubts, someone else would buy her. She said no pressure but she was putting an ad in the paper and on YT. Still I had to do SOME checking. Still, I was planning on a road trip to TN to get her just as quickly as I could get some "due diligence" accomplished. I tried to find out anything about "Pleasant Place Yorkies in Hendersonville, TN" to no avail, the breeder Rebekah said bred little Izzy. I got online and read through some of her posts here On YT where I found she posted that she had only paid $650 for Izzy. I asked her about this and she said she did not want to admit she had overpaid for Izzy. I found that strange that she would go from $2200 to $650 and asked "So, you did actually pay this breeder $2200? She said, "If you have doubts, my groomer is interested." I kept reassuring her it was not that I had doubts, I just needed more info. I asked if she had soft or silky textured coat? She said:"Its very very soft n silky feeling." I told her how to tell the difference in soft and silk but she did not answer back on that question. I also asked her about some of the lines in her pedigree. She said I could see those when I bought the pedigree from AKC as she had never gotten one and had not even registered Izzy. I also asked her about selling a puppy belonging to her daughter as I had seen a post where she said Izzy was a birthday present for her daugher. She said she was too young and uninterested and she did not care if I didn't agree with her "reason for getting rid of her." Her words. I had not said I agreed or disagreed but was asking why. The only reason was that she wanted a breeder. I would have never said "getting rid of her" though as that sort of language reminds me of some old pile of clothes or toys your child is done with NOT a living, breathing puppy. I also didn't understand why she couldn't keep her and get a breeding prospect. She said she bought Izzy to be a breeding dog but that was confusing to me as she HAD to know she was going to be small! A 2.2 lb adult is not going to present as a pup that would grow to breeding size. Still with all of these things -- I was still wanting this little girl. She told me again, that the groomer was interested but she was waiting to hear back from me. So, I immediately wrote back: "I am very interested but trying to be sensible too. " I also told her: "It is not that I am having doubts, I am trying to learn a little more about her." I asked very specific questions telling her I really needed to know AT LEAST about bile acid testing and would she be willing to do a bile acid test before selling her. I ended by asking if she really preferred to sell to her groomer (I would have understood) or if she just did not want to answer my questions. By this time there had been several back and forth and I still had NOT ONE HEALTH QUESTION answered! I would write several paragraphs and she would write back with like one sentence, that did not even touch on the health questions I was asking. She wrote back right away, at 11:31 am saying: "Oh no I'm not saying that at all. Just that she is interested in her. Let me contact the vet n get All her information." Then a little over an HOUR later she writes the following: Mon, Mar 28, 2011 12:49 pm Hi there. Someone just put a deposit on Izzy. Thank you so much for ur inquiry. " Thanks for "ur inquiry"????? I thought she was waitng on me, and had no idea that meant minutes instead of long enough for her to check with her vet. I told her I WANTED Izzy, told her I was VERY interested, I was even willing to forego some of the testing if I could JUST GET SOME ANSWERS. Last I heard she was getting that from the vet. But I NEVER got any answers to my health questions. So, I have no idea if she has joint problems like LP or Legg-Perthe or if she has liver shunts or worse. All I wanted was answers to some very basic and crucial health questions. I don't think anyone should buy a dog without knowing these things. I even gave her a list of questions I would normally ask so she would know I was not being picky this time (since she was not a breeding candidate, I cut out quite a lot of my usual questions). I can't get over the fact that Rebekah told me she was waiting on me at 10:30 am Monday and then had sold her to someone else by 12:49 the same day while supposedly checking with her vet to see what testing she had done. I believe things happen for a reason and I have been saved from myself before. But I really fell in love with the pictures of Izzy -- something in her little face just made me want to love her endlessly. I hope the person who does get to provide a loving home for this baby got some answers to these questions. Most of all I hope she does provide her with a loving, safe, and healthy home where the new owner will actually know what she has been tested for. Not Bile Acid Testing a puppy that is so small would be irresponsible. But she may well have the testing, who know???? Not me. I just do not understand why she was so reluctant to answer any of my questions. I would have loved to have seen her and Annie running, playing and bonding with each other. I had just had my sister here with her two yorkies (from my previous litters) and I loved how they were just inseparable. I wanted that for my Annie! I have such a great place for puppies with almost an acre of our property fenced just for them now that my boys are all grown and away. Being retired, I have all the time in the world to spoil them and love them -- they provide me with so much joy! But I know I am already thrice blessed with my 2 yorkies and my youngest son's Jack Russell until he gets out of school. I will enjoy them and think very hard before I put myself through something like this again. |
Debra, I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience. I was excited when I saw your post on the other thread where you said you were very interested in this little girl - I was so excited and happy for you. I just brought home a little girl from another YT member (SRD) and I had the exact opposite experience - this is the experience I would have wished for you as well. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...test-home.html I don't understand why anyone wouldn't be open and honest and welcome questions if they sincerely want to find the RIGHT home for their little one. Bonny |
Debra, that is terrible- i've seen you write a few times about wanting a little playmate for annie... i supose that'll happen when its meant to be. at least from you posting your experince, if the op ever does get a breeding girl, this thread will be a starting clue on how she'll deal with future potenial owners... if only you were here- i think one of my girls is goning to be a tiny! :( |
So sorry this happened to you.....things happen for a reason. Too many inconsistencies.....a couple that really scream at me; daughter's dog, but purchased as a breeder????? Stated that she is AKC register...but, at 15 months hadn't done so.....now that in itself would cost you some $$$$, since it hadn't been done prior to a year of age. I know how you had your heart on this lil one......But, I'm so glad that your heart didn't overrule your common sense. |
I'm really sorry this happened to you. You know that things happen for a reason and for some reason none of this adds up or makes sense. I'm hopeful that she is going to a good home, but I can't imagine she found someone 2 hours after talking to you. I wonder if she decided to keep the pup? I'm hopeful that you will find out what you are looking for and that it will work out perfectly. |
I am sorry it didn't work out. Hopefully she will go to a home experienced with tiny yorkies. She would have been so loved and taken care of by you. I to believe things happen for a reason. When I am ever in doubt over something I tell myself go slow if it is meant to be it will be. |

Hi there, oh wow, i am in shock... I never read where you told me you wanted her... I have all of our emails n went back to read them and still did not see that. Please for give me... I know it said you were still considering so I am SO SORRY! I did say i would check with my vet which i did but When Kimberly approached me and wanted her also I always thought it was first come first serve! I just want her to have an amazing home. I would have LUVED for you to have her but also after recieving the last email from you which i will also post, i felt like you either didnt believe anything I said or you were just unsure. Again I am so sorry... |

After going back and reading this for a second time, I am in tears. I am being made out to be a monster when all i was doing was trying to find Izzy a loving home. Does it matter what I paid for her? I do not feel like I was asking to much. "I" felt man handled in a sense by the emails that I was receiveing from you. I had NO PROBLEM answering your questions which would have taking me a week at least BUT i would have done so if I didnt have so many people wanting her. Do I turn these other people down if they want her right away? |
Quote:
I totally agree w u n I didnt have a problem with the questions... Just wasnt sure how long I was suppose to wait when others were wanting her right then... She never made a definate decision when there were three people wanting her right then... Do i tell them no? Confused... |
Quote:
I was very open and honest and would gladly answer any questions but before i could do so someone bought her before i could get all the information together. There was never an agreement with this buyer... |
Quote:
This is just not fair. I have been VERY OPEN n HONEST but someone bought her before i could get everything together. She never said she wanted her for sure but was considering it then the buyer bought her. |

I Am so shocked at how people are so eager to rip others apart just by reading a post... I have NOTHING to hide. Izzy is a beautiful 2.2 tiny female yorkie that we purchased for my daughters birthday for 2200.00 (yes i wrote I paid 650 for her because of all the negatives that i read on here about what people pay) AND I planned on breeding her. My daughter is obviously too young n does not show any interest AND Izzy is too little to breed so as a RESPONSIBLE person I paid to have her spade before I sold her so that no one would breed her. She has been SPOILED rotten, up to date on EVERYTHING, tested for everything that MY vet test for and because i sold her to a very sweet lady that wanted to give her a loving home, Then i am a bad person? PLEASE help me understand WHAT is going on here? |
Quote:
Also YES she is AKC... I have not sent them off and to do so after 1 yr is a difference of 20 dollars... I beleive it is 16 before a yr n 36 after... Come on ladies this is a lil petty... I thought this site was for yorkie lovers not yorkie lovers to bash one another. I think I have done the resposible thing. |

See there ya go! u have no idea what questions were being asked... It was questions like Did the parents need help mating n stuff that I should not have to know BUT i was going to contact the breeder n ask so until u know what u r talking about PLEASE do not respond negatively because I did exactly what i was suppose to do n had answers to all the medical questions etc. But mating issues between the parents of Izzy, come on. |
Quote:
oh n I did answer all the buyers medical questions etc... Izzy is a very HEALTHY baby girl n I felt like more confortable with the buyer who did pay me LESS than what she was going to pay soooo that wasnt the issue... |
Quote:
You did not answer those questions, which as a "wannabe" breeder you should know the answers to, backwards and forwards. LP, BATS is quite frankly something so commonly known I'm quite surprised you did not immediately have the answer. You also should have had those answers on the parents of this puppy you needed to rehome. |
Manhandled -- OH NO -- that is not the case and you know it. I was SO NICE about this, even when I was finding discrepancies in what you said to me on the phone and what I found in your older posts right here ON YT. I never said a thing negative to you about that. I even told you that I was not worried about the price you paid or the price you were asking. I just wanted to make sure she was healthy. Everytime you gave me that ......"If you have doubts, I have other buyers..." stuff, I told you very nicely that it was not about having doubts, I just wanted some basic health questions answered. You would not even tell me this baby did not have liver shut or LP problems. Rebekah -- I told you on the phone right away that I wanted her but wanted to do as I recommended other people did and ASK QUESTIONS. I don't understand how it could have taken you long to answer my questions. A week -- really, why? What was so difficult to answer? You should have known the answers off the top of your head. I just wanted to know what tests she had. I asked if she had a bile acid test? You did not answer. I then figured you would remember if she had it done as it is not a regular blood panel test (as I told you in the email) -- they have to eat what the vet feeds them and then have blood taken again. So I asked if you would be willing to have her bile acid tested. You did not answer. I asked about LP/which is luxating patella and Legg Perthe -- joint problems. You did not answer. If you think these are PETTY questions -- I DO NOT UNDERSTAND. If you really plan to breed Yorkies, you need to start learning the testing -- I gave you a list of tests and said that was what I USUALLY ask about if getting a puppy but since she is not a breeding prospect & already spayed, I did not ask you all of that. I have the emails -- mine with questions -- yours without answers. I am happy you have a good home for this little one. But did this buyer NOT ask you any questions? If so, doesn't that worry YOU? If someone was wanting to buy one of my pups, I would expect them to be prepared enough to ask basic health questions. If not, then I would be giving some training so they would know and understand. I was not at all unreasonable. I had to keep repeating my same questions, because you never answered. I still do not know if this baby has luxating patellas, what grade they might be; if she has a liver shunt, or what. Because you never answered. You TOLD me you were checking with your VET so i was WAITING for YOUR REPLY! I took you at your word that you were getting the health info from your vet AS YOU SAID. Why would I have done anything else but wait for YOUR answer when you said you were checking for me. I have the email you sent at 11:31 am Monday. This was just a few hours time TOTAL! I did not delay anything. You told me at 11:31 you were checking with the VET and then you emailed again at 12:49 am Monday that you had taken a deposit. It never occurred to me that you would tell me you were waiting, then tell me you were checking and then revert to "first come first served" as you say. How about "First asked, first answered" -- did that occur to you? You did me wrong, there is no getting around it Rebekah. You know that was not right and I do not understand why you could not just answer my questions to start with. I'll put the actual email excerpts in the next post. |
Doesn’t this sound like a person that wants to buy your dog as long as there are no health problems? (These are all from my emails and you know I literally gushed over the phone, I was so excited!). “I would like to have Izzy but I want to know some things about her first. I am very interested but trying to be sensible too. It is not that I am having doubts, I am trying to learn a little more about her. My emotions are HIGH right now and I want her. But I want to do it right and ask questions -- I want to be an informed buyer. I would think you'd expect me to ask a lot of questions and you would know how serious I am because of that. I can't believe I am doing this -- haven't even gotten dressed yet this morning as all I have thought about is Izzy since I saw your post with her picture. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon, so I need to get on the ball. I will look forward to hearing from you again. Thanks a million for the pictures -- they are fantastic -- one just as cute as the other! You can manage toget a cute picture from about any yorkie but it is difficult to get so many adorable shots of one pup unless she is a true beauty! I even LOVE her name! It fits her! I found myself practice calling them, "Annie, Izzy, Ben and Candy" I am in love! Having a time of it trying to be sensible and take my time. If you were local, she'd probably already be in my arms. :) And here are all of my unreasonable questions: Can you send me a copy of your sales contract? Would you consider having her bile acid tested if she has not been so far? How is her bite/teeth alignment? Can you give me her dimensions? Hgt/Length/girth? Can you feel the knees slip in and out of joint when you bend them? Sign of LP. Were dew claws removed when tail was docked? How are her teeth? Any baby teeth retained? Has she had a dental? Does she have tartar build up? Even though she is not being bought to breed or show, I am still interested in the quality of her breeding and health history. I hope this makes sense and you understand where I am coming from." I just do not understand at all -- I was not being unreasonable at all. I even got down to the point, I was going to get her as long as I could get 2 answers -- liver shunt and lp/joints? But I never got that much. :( I am not trying to get you to change your mind and would have let it go with one post but you made several saying I never said I wanted her and that I made you feel manhandled -- I needed to clear that up. I even told you it was not at all about the money -- it was important that I know things before adding her to my family. That is just plain common sense and CARING about both Izzy and the dogs I already have. |

and after buying her as a breeder, you most certainly should have known these, and the parental health and breed-ability (as well as the grandparents)- and i'm not sure what i now what think of Her breeder to allow you to buy her as a breeder withot knowing those Crucial facts- and of course given the fact that she must have just completely stopped growing once you got her (unless she was very (ie. too) young) she would have very unlikely been charting to be a healthy breeding size... also, where did i mention that your only concern was the money? |

and if you do ever breed- it is certainly not a 1st come 1st serve. i have had people offer me 3 times my asking price for a pup that they are clearly not suitable to have- its always about whats best for the dog in question- |
