| help... I'm trying to find a puppy with no luck I've been looking for a puppy for a bit in NC, many, many times I find an add on line it turns out to be some sort of puppy scam. They all ask the same questions and are odd about just moving and needing a loving home for the puppies, they ask what religion you are or they simply say they are Christians.. to imply they are trustworthy. They go on to say that the puppy will only cost you a transportation fee or shipping cost. All of there adds say they are somewhat local but when they email you back they all have moved just recently. Such a bogus thing. Who do you report puppy scams to? Does anyone know of a breeder in NC or SC? How long does it take to find a Yorkie puppy? Any help anyone can provide would be so appreciated. Warm regards, Rose |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | If you are getting the ads from the newspaper or the online version of it, you can report them there. Unfortunately, there are a lot of scammers online. As to how long it takes to find a pup, I spent a year looking before I found Rhett. In your other thread, BonBon posted a good link to help you in your search. Also, I don't think you can go wrong by starting with the YTCA site. If the YTCA breeders near you don't have pups, they will help point you towards reputable breeders in the area. http://www.ytca.org/breeder1a.html

| You can also ask local groomers and such if they know of any breeders.

| Thanks for all of your support and advise in my puppy search. It is very nice to have all of this help. Most of the SCAM looking things have come from online adds at many different type of websites. I did call local vets and ask if they would recommend any breeders and none of them were willing to recommend any. But I'll try local groomers |

| I know of a good show breeder Tammie Williams pndrarosia love my babies in Granite Falls about an hour and 1/2 from you. Towards the Mountains blueridge/Blowing rock. Also have a real close friend who rescues as well has breeds small scale. She has some litlers coming the end of March. Also Shatina Sparks is a breeder in your town. She sells ox-fresh. Most scams are for yorkies prices around 2-250. Thats a scam no good breeder sales that cheap. Tammie had a little male for 600.00 Show breeder limited akc reg. Great looking yorkies from her lines. Terri Shumsky was her mentor and I believe she has some of her lines. Pm me if you can't google Tammies website or need my friend Susans or Shatina email. You are looking at 500-2000 just depends on what your wanting. But These are good ethical breeders who breed for coat, temperament and the better the breed. No puppy mill dogs. Lord for bid please don't buy from a puppymill. Mommies and Daddys don't belong in cages breeding back to back. So do be careful of that. A good breeder with give you a health warranty with your puppy too. Best of luck in finding your baby. to pm me go to my user majesticyorkies and click on send privite message

Back in 2001 I got my Shayleigh from Sylvia Shumake at Hilcrest, she is a show breeder. She and Tammie are friends. I now longer have my Shayleigh as she passed away due to tragic accident caused by my Mother -In-Law. It broke my heart the day I had to call Sylvia and tell her.

| First let me say... I'm sorry for you loss of your Shayliegh. I've lost a dear little dog a little over a year ago my Freddie, the loss of a pet is an awful thing to go through. Thanks for sharing that you know Tammy, I have emailed Denise to get contact information for the different breeders she mentioned. I am getting very hopeful that I'll find a puppy soon. I so appreciate all the advise and information everyone has provided here at Yorkie Talk. Warm Regards, Rose |

| I copy and pasted Tammies website for her. Sent her some other breeder friends numbers. Between all of us here we should be able to lead her to a good breeder. I know a few others around me but I have never seen how they keep their dogs. To me thats what's most important. Are they in the house loved etc. Best of look Rose and please post pics of your new baby when you find him or her. By the way Welcome to Yorkie Talk.
