| At this young age, I do NOT think that you will be able to tell if the puppy is mixed. I'm sure that he will be adorable. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a mixed bred puppy. I have a Yorkie-Pool that is simply gorgeous, but I knew that was what I was getting. He is a strong, healthy dog -- even at the ripe old age of 14.5. Why did the breeder say they she let the dog get bounced on by 3 different sires? Or did they get to her while she was in heat?

| I would just ask the breeder if there is any chance she is mixed. I would want to know before I puchased. I dont think your for sure gonna be able to tell by looking.

| Ok, If you are looking for a yorkie, and this person advertised a yorkie for sale, now she is telling you that she bred her female with 3 different dogs, 2 beings yorkies and 1 being a chi, I would not buy this dog!! A breeder doesn't go around breeding their female with every dog on the block or in the house, It doesn't sound right!! But if you just want this puppy and don't care if its a purebreed, Then go ahead and buy it, but the breeder still sounds like a jerk! (if I correctly read your update) |

I know it's not uncommon for small dogs to have just 1. But a lab wow. I've never heard of that before. My lab had 2 litters before I had a chance to get her spayed. My grandmother got sick and died and then my husband was hit by a drunk driver. Anyway she had I think 9 or 10 both times. Good Luck.

| I would say if you don't mind a possible mix and it is what you are looking for I would purchase the pup. I still have to question this woman some, with allowing the breeding of three males. Yes, it is very possible that it is still a full blooded yorkie. One way of telling is to do a DNA test on the pup and the parents, but this could be a process of elimination and very costly, and you would have proably been able to purchase another yorkie for what that would cost you.

| Thanks every1 for your input.... I spoke with my very understanding Hubby and we decided to look elsewhere. Yesterday I went to go look at the pup an mom.... she explained that the chi was her's and could of gotten to her female, she kept saying that now a days mix's are very "popular" and her first litter was fathered from her chi... right there a HUGE "red light" went off in my head and I decided , NO....pLUS her female was not very taken care of ... I had told her over the phone before that I wanted to leave a deposit so that way I could drop off a bed for him so when I took him he would have his mom's scent on it for comfort but she is very difficult to get a hold of... as much as I REALLY want a pup I am going to look around elsewhere.... My hubby said if I wait for "x-mas" he will get it for me with a BIg red bow, but that's way tooo long, so if you guys know of a pup in the Texas area, please advise! Thanks all!! |
