The pictures don't do them justice, these puppies are BEAUTIFUL! Yesterday my brother and I bought two of her puppies, I cannot say enough wonderful things about them! If you are considering buying a puppy it is well worth the travel to adopt from Jen, she really cares about her dogs.

One WORD I can say for your puppies that I assure you that you and I can agree on...............................adorable.

Anyway I have a question......... what is holistic vet raised? I have never heard of it.

Holistic vet raised puppies i find are very healthy. They are not given shots or deworming from they day they are born so they dont get the bad side effects from them. If you take care of the puppies well with the right Diet you shouldnt have to worry about them getting sick. Holistic care is very interesting. there is alot about Holistic care.

Im sure Jen and Johanna and Tell you a ton more about since i learned about it from Johanna and Now raise my Yorkies holistically and they are the healthiest puppies i've ever had. :-D

I thought they were often born with worms from their mothers and that's why they were de-wormed from birth. Are these puppies fecal tested?

um so they are never given shots? Oh well if that is the case I assume that they never go outside nor come into contact with other animals. Also the deworming is suppose to better and could cause major problems.

holistic is all natural...no drugs.. no over vaccinating.. vaccinosis can cause neurological damage often blamed on genetics... there are natural cures for most everything.. poor diet also is a factor to consider.... we all know about the dog food problem, i hope.. there are quite a few holistic vets out there, and the numbers are increasing...lots of info available with a simple google search...

Good questions. I would refer you to holistic vetrinary service for answers since ours are scientifically imcomplete. :) The Truth About Vaccines Here's a start.

Holistically raised dogs are very much socialized - dog parks, schools, geriatric centers, anywhere really. They lack the acquired neurological damage caused by vaccinosis which makes them excellent therapy dogs. There are only two state required vaccinations in PA and holistic vets adhere to them in order to maintain legality. Everything else is superfluous. This creates ultra smart, easily trainable dogs without fleas, skin problems, digestive problems diseases and behavioral difficulties. They live upwards of 15+ years problem free.

All dogs acquire worms at one point or another. Even humans have a plethora of quiet parasites in our digestive tract. It is only immuno-suppressed individuals that have a problem. Same with dogs--only dogs with compromised immune systems cannot fight off the normal parasitic load. With holistic vetting and diet the worm/flea problems are virtually non-existant.

Again I applaud Jen on her amazing holistic care, my pup Stormy has become housebroken in less than two days, eating fantastic, well socialized and a joy to be around. Thanks again!

my puppies have not been fecal tested..i do use a natural product called purasite. it contains all natural herbs. i trust herbals over drugs because they are safer..i treat all my adult dogs with this product monthly to ensure that
any parasites they may have acquired will be flushed out.. it is very effective.. most humans should also be using these products.. just google parasites to find out what you may have living inside your own body..
i do check their stools since i clean up my yard very frequently.. there are a lot of great natural products we can use to prevent diseases in our pets and for ourselves.. none of these products require a prescription..

there is a lot of research results showing the problems related to vaccines.
i am waiting until my puppies are 12 weeks until i give any vaccines.
then, they will be given only if my vet recommends them. the puppies i adopted to great families were not vaccinated... and that made them highly desirable to the knowledgable new owners.. it is a very good idea to do research on the latest findings in the scientific community.. the same old plan we used for all these years may be harming our babies...just like all the dog food we thought was safe... and we found out it is hurting them...
what happens when a breeder gives 3 doses of vaccine to a small dog at 8, 10, and 12 weeks.. and then sells the puppy to someone who takes it to the vet, and disregards the breeders actions, and goes ahead with more vaccines? i think this happens a lot... what about the poisonous preservatives used in the vaccines? i would rather err on the side of safety
... i dont want to cause neurological damage to any of my animals...
i am still doing my research.. and i am thankful there are holistic vets i can turn to...

I would think a regular vet would be looking for the vaccination and worming records.

Does this mean all natural, that the puppies are on a all natural food diet also?
So lets say someone does not get the parvo shots, how do they prevent parvo contact with one of the babies. I have always been told that Parvo is one of the leading causes of puppy death, is there something natural that also prevents this from happening?

I read up on the Pura Site & found what I read to be quite interesting. If one of my dogs is tested positive for parasites, I plan to give it a try. However, it may be better to give it to them on a regular, preventative basis.

My only issue with what you've written is where/how you check their stools. Parasites are microscopic, so a yard check is not adequate. I think it would be worthwhile to have the stools checked by a vet to confirm the absence of parasites & worms.

when someone adopts a puppy... they get to choose their own vet...
a holistic vet is my choice... but, i do not have control over the puppy
or the choice of vet.. so the puppy is at risk of overvaccination if i give all the shots before they are placed... a fecal test is done by the new vet,
and no parasites are found because the worming was done holistically using natural products...also, the vet often times disregards the breeder's record of injections when done, and goes ahead with another round of shots , possibly causing great damage to the puppy...finding the right vet is very important.
i am praying for holistic buyers for my puppies... i have always given my dogs vaccinations in the past... however, regular vets are always pushing vaccines when they are not necessary.. they now say a 3 year booster is all that is needed instead of a yearly booster... google vaccinosis....
a reduction in the types of vaccines given, and in the frequency they are given are at least recommended in the latest research... the majority of vets do not even like breeders.. so , it is hard to find a good one who is aware
of the latest research... i don't know if it is just the money... maybe they need to give lots of vaccinations to pay the bills...

Jen, I did look up some stuff, and what I have found is that vaccaniations need to be given, however to be held off until the puppy reaches 8 weeks old, and do not give boosters which is a waste of money and could cause health issues. What is it that you do that prevents diseases if they have not had any shots? Please do not take this wrong with my questions, I just have not heard of this and since I know vets do inject crap into our babies even if they do not need it this type of care seems awesome if I learn more about it and how to prevent diseases from happening.

colon cleansing is the best way to prevent disease in humans.
so, i assume this also is a good thing for animals. preventing disease is a lot easier than curing it.
good nutrition and an environment free of toxins includes not giving
medications or unnecessary vaccines is my definition of holistic.. but, each person must decide for themselves.. and of course abide by the laws of each state concerning vaccinations...i am a nurse whoi sees the damage done by overmedicating people.. the same is true for vets giving meds to animals in many cases...there are lots of effective and useful miracle drugs.
we just need to be informed and be responsible for doing our own research
before following blindly.. to do no harm...


btw...parasites are not always small and microscopic... they feed on the inside and grow very large..

You sound like my DW :). After 25 years of daily lectures, she's starting to get through to me. When the Yorksters are prescribed meds by the vet, I can't tell her, because I get yet another long lecture on their harmful effects.

While I agree that over vaccinating is a huge concern, I would really worry about not being vaccinated for parvo. It's a highly contagious disease.
