Many rescue places need foster homes, why not foster? This way you can get a feel for the dog, if both of you hit it off, than maybe you can request to adopt? Just trying to help. |

jamiel...I want to say this a gently as possible. If $300 for a rescue is too much money for you, maybe this is not the right time for you to adopt. Pups, even healthy ones are going to cost you money on a monthly basis. Yorkies, to be well kept, have dietary needs, in cold weather, clothing, hair cuts & that does not take into account vet visits when they get sick. I know you are aching for one but it just may not be the right time for you. Elizabeth |

Thank you, I have responded to this post multiple times but never get a response back. I responded again and we will see. Thank you and God Bless. |
I would also like to reccomend considering adopting a little older rather then a puppy. There are many perks to adopting older such as you will know how big and what look he or she will have as well as their temperment and potty training another plus. Rescues have many from 2 yrs. and older. Even a 5 yr. old Yorkie still has many years of love to give. Elaine |
What amount are you willing to spend on a yorkie?..the reason I ask is because I was in your shoes, when we got Riley..I wanted a yorkie sooooooo bad, but I couldnt find one within my price range,,,(I breed Bichons, and some times, the money I got for them still was not enough)..so what I did was get online google yorkies under X amount of dollars, (in my area of corse), I dont believe in shipping an animal....and low and behold there was an add for a yorkie for 250$ and he was only 3 hrs away, and it turned out he was only 14 weeks old,,,it was truly a dream come true, He came from a breeder, and he did have a respiratory infection, that was why the low price,,but I knew god gave me the idea to look it up the way I did, and I knew I was ment to have him, and get him the care he needed, He was up to date on his shots, and she was an older lady who didnt what to charge a large amount of money for a pup that neededn vet care right away...and luckly we have pretty reasonable vets in my area,,so I knew when I saw him, that he wasnt so sick he would die,,,so I took him home, he went to the vet the next morning, came home with an antibiotic, and has been perfectly healthy ever since,,,:D......just keep looking honey,,,,dont give up,,,just try differnt ways of looking up yorkies, like I did,,,,when I just typed in yorkies for sale is pa,,,,they were all 600 to 1600...but when I typed it in with the amount I could afford,,,I founnd him within 10 minutes..:p.....just pray, and god will answer when the time is right,,,..dont forget there are people who have unregistered unplanned litters,,,,who dont charge a foutune,,,cuz there not in it for the money,,,and if your not planning on breeding, you dont need papers anyways..;).....oh one more thing.....there are cross breeds out there..(I know some are very against this)..but there are morkies,,,(maltise and yorkie mix) and yorkiechons,,,(yorkie and bichon mix) and shorkies,,,(s**tzue and yorkie mix)....they make wonderfull pets,,,,,and sometimes you can find one of these that look EXACTLY like the yorkie parent,,,( I have seen this b4) and these mixes dont have papers, so they are usually very affordable,,,Dont give up hope hun...God will bring you your baby when, the time is right...he did for me..:hands: |
Thank you so much! I have been praying and just asking trusting God. Right now I am hoping to get an older yorkie from a lady on YT if I can get enough money in time... hopefully if not then it wasn't in God's plan. I will try searching as you did. Thank you so much for your encouragement. I ask that you pray to that God leads me to the right yorkie. Jamiel |
Just keep praying and you will find your baby, some times on here in the for sale section an rehoming section they have yorkies that going to be used for breeding, but they where to small or to big and they give a good price for them, also try craigslist, you would be amazed how many yorkies are on there. |

I am sorry for your loss . I am one of those people that if murphy's law was an asset then its the main asset I have. I have spent more money on illnesses over the past year on my yorkies then I could have ever imagined. Best of luck and dear remember a single $85 for the first vet visit may be a kick in the bucket for more cost. I know you are probably considering these issues also. |
I just want to thank everyone who replied to this thread with your support. Today God answered my prayers. I meet Nancy (Little Bit) and adopted Maija. She is so sweet and cute! I want to thank Nancy so much for this opportunity. God has really blessed me. Again, thank you all and please remember that with God ALL things are possible. I am proof of it. God Bless, Jamiel |
Congratulations - I am glad your prayers were answered! Enjoy your new baby! :littleang |
