| thank you! I have an ad for him in the local paper, but so far no serious bites and some people wanted to know if I had a "cheap" one available! LOL Is there such thing? I was actually shocked myself to find them to be so high priced, but on the good note of that if someone is serious about a dog, they will spend the money. I think higher prices deter some people from just rushing out a buy a dog. I dont want to sound hypocritical, because I do know how to manage dogs (I have 3 others), but as you all know yorkies are not quite like other dogs. I am amazed at how much Jakey seems to think about things, they are super smart...certainly he seems smarter at 14 weeks now than my other 3 combined! Maybe that is why I am feeling inadequate for him, he is more complex than other puppies I have been exposed to. Either way, again I appreciate your kindness and any further positive exposure this little one gets the better! |

| If his other testical does not become evident, you should really consider selling him with limited registration as undescended testicals appear to be genetic. If we all continue to stay responsible with what we are doing then we are one step closer to keeping the breed sound. Best of luck finding him a wonderful home. He is precious!!!

| There is a thread that discusses this problem here on YT. I was told by 2 different vets and a breeder of 20+ years that normally both testicals are present (not dropped, but present) by 6-12 weeks of age. The other could be there, just really high up and hard to find. If unchanged, an intact testical that has not descended could potentially become cancerous. By the way, I would not consider this "normal" it is however common in small breeds but is not something that any breeder, or responsible breeder I should say, does not wish for in his or her stock. Not knocking you by any means- you have stated that you do not now too much about this, and that is fine. I just know that any bit of information that we get along the way always helps in the future.

| Just to clarify... I am not the breeder, I just bought him from one as a pet intending to neuter him anyway. I decided days after I bought him that I didnt think I should keep him, and when I called the breeder to tell her that I didnt want to keep him AND that he did only have one testicle evident (but like you all said, the other is most likely up there, and for all I know is now evident...he has another appt on the 30th, so we will recheck then) and perhaps this could be considered a "flaw" (since her "return" policy was only for defective dogs, and I figured a dog for that much money that was not perfect ought to be compensated for or AT LEAST she should have taken him back and offered me an exchange (even though the testicle wasnt really a problem, just hopefully enough justification to return him to somone who could easily find him a new home) rather than act like the idiot she ended up being and tell me she couldnt take a dog back that had already been exposed to other dogs (which means she obviously must NEVER take dogs back that have been sold into homes already having dogs?????). In fact, she really should never even leave her house and then return, since dog viruses are all over and could be tracked in on the bottom of a shoe!!!! I am not going to knock people who breed to pay their bills, though I do have my opinions on that type of breeding reasoning, but I do think all breeders should care about the stock they produce and when charging a lot for a puppy, they should not be picky about the problems their buyers have when not satisfied, because of my experience with her ignorance, I will not recommend her to a breeder whenever anyone asks me where to locally get a dog. Jakey is a great little dog and hopefully his other testicle will become evident (as it is too early for it to drop, most likely, I think that happens in a few more months), but I agree he shouldnt be bred if this is genetic, and anyone interested in breeding would most likely not buy him because of this anyway. I didnt know this was a genetic thing, thanks for offering the info. I doubt the breeder knows this, perhaps I will enlighten her. |

| I have decided that I will ship little Jakey, just in case a wonderful home is not within a reasonable driving distance. I am not sure what this costs, but I just wanted to throw the option out there. |

| Just to let you all know that Jake found his forever home today! If I could have designed a perfect person to take little Jakey, the woman who bought him fit that perfectly. I am confident he will live a fabulous life with her. thanks to you all who were hoping for his best- he got it. |
