| Hello and Welcome to Yorkie Talk!! Glad you found us!! For $400, your chances of getting a good quality purebred yorkie are very slim. I would suggest either saving up for one ($1000 is a good price to start with) or look into rescuing one as there are a lot of rescues out there that need homes as well. Good luck!!

| Lele. Welcome to YT. Please don't rule out a rescue. Many rescues are in there to no fault of their own. Owners, realize a pup is too much to train, Some owners are older and go into nursing homes and some sadly with the economy have lost their homes. Many many reasons why these poor babies end up in rescue. Some are even rescued from puppymills. I got my Lilly at 13 weeks old through BCAA an all breed rescue in NJ. I paid $400 for her and she was up to date on shots, vetted, and had a pediatric spay done by a pediatric vet so essentially with all the vetting etc. I really got her for free. If you go to Petfinder.com: Adopt a pet and help an animal shelter rescue a puppy or kitten. and type in your zip code and Yorkie you will find all the Yorkies in your area. I have seen MANY puppies in Ohio. I hope it works out for you. Elaine |

| First off, welcome to YT. Just FYI, from the rule sticky: We do not allow threads begging for free puppies or looking for puppies at extreme reduced costs. Yorkies are generally from $500 on up, with most being in the $1000 to $1500 range. Please do not post looking for Yorkies below $500. If your budget for a Yorkie does not allow for $500 or more, you may want to look into Yorkie rescues or adoptions of older Yorkies, as they may be better suited to your price range. Feel free to PM sellers with an offer, but the public forum is not a place to beg or whine for a Yorkie, nor post looking for a Yorkie under $500. As indicated, you may want to check out some options as far as rescue...there is a rescue section here on YT as well. Also, you may want to try contacting some breeders in your area, they may have or may know a fellow breeder looking to rehome a retired female that might be closer to your price range. Because of all the costs that come with breeding, it's not very common to find a pup from a reputable breeder in the price range that you are considering. | Im sorry for posting that I was looking for a yorkie around $400. But I have never begged or whined for anything in my life and I dont have to. I just did'nt know how much they really cost, I never had one. And I know that there is nothing free. |

| I didn't think that you were begging or whining--I just copied the section from the admin-written rule section word for word, seems like the best option--being as you are a new member, I'm sure it was an easy thing to overlook. No worries. Funny how when you remove a few key phrases... Yet, generally speaking, it always seems that people tend to hone in on the "begging and whining" inclusion and overlook the actual advice given in the excerpt and any suggestions that may follow. (And the use of the word OR.) We do not allow threads *deleted portion of paragraph* looking for puppies at extreme reduced costs. Feel free to PM sellers with an offer but the public forum is not a place to *deleted portion of paragraph* post looking for a Yorkie under $500. Last edited by BamaFan121s; 09-02-2008 at 08:11 PM. |
