| Decided to look for a baby again Hi everyone. The banner at the top of my page says I haven't posted in awhile and that I should become an active member, so I guess I will be obidient and comply. Well, I decided to look for a puppy again. I had stopped for a few months after being unsuccessful during December and Janurary. I had given up hope for a while, but the other day, I had a really bad day and I found out that the only think that calmed me down was a puppy. I actually went to a little pet store and held one of their little babies. It's amazing what animals can do to one's blood pressure. But anyway, I know I've asked before for recommendations, reviews, etc. and for one reason or another I still haven't found what I am looking for. I guess I'm just very picky in what I want in a Yorkie. Well, here is what I am looking for, so if anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate the help, just as I've appreciated all the help I've gotten in the past from YTers. You guys are amazing!!! What I am looking for: A smaller Yorkie, more on the smaller size of the spectrum. I don't have any children, and I am aware of the extra care these babies require. I want the gorgeous silk coat...that is a must. I want a Yorkie who will be on slightly darker. The dark steel blue on the back or black with a darker honey color in the front. I want small erect ears on a little "baby face" with a short nose. I also would like to find a breeder in Northern California, since I would like to meet the breeder and his or her Yorkie babies. But if that's not possible, then anyone with any great reviews of breeders they have worked with who ship, that would also be greatly appreciated. Also, maybe if there's someone who would have puppies available in mid May. I'm going to be in California for a few days during that time. As for my budget, I guess I can say that I can do $2000 and below. Preferibly under $2000 would be best. I know I'm asking for a lot, but I just have an idea of what I want and what I'm looking for. This baby will be my companion for the next 15, hopefully more years, and I want to find that baby that I'll just fall in love with at first sight. I think I'll know when I see that puppy. Thank you so much for reading this long message and I hope everyone has a wonderful day! |

| Thank you. I've been so close to getting a puppy in the past, but timing is such a big issue. <sigh> But thank you for the words of support. I'm going to need all the luck I can get. I tried looking for a puppy in Mexico, but they're not what I'm looking for. Plus, it seems to me like most of the puppies come from what I might consider puppy mills. Maybe not on such a large scale, but it sounds like their dogs live outside, etc. No socialization whatsoever, no human contact. I've even been tempted to purchase a puppy from a pet store, but I should know better. I'll just have to keep looking. |

| Where are you located? Perhaps a breeder might be located in your area where you can visit in person.

| I'm located in Stockton, CA. I looked at ytca.org but a lot of the breeders are in Southern California. I keep checking the local newspaper, but haven't found a reputable breeder or the puppy I am looking for. I would love to be able to visit the puppies and the breeder in person. That's actually more of what I would like. Thanks again to everyone who's sent me information. |

| There is plenty of Breeders in Northern CA Believe I know that searching for the perfect pup & breeder is emotionally tasking. You are NOT going to find the dog within a week. I saw a few websites, the thing is I don't have much infomation since I'm from Los Angeles, and thought that Northern Ca is pointless search for me. Try Googling "Yorkshire Terrier Breeders in Northern California" Also the small the dog the more expensive and "Designer Breeds", mixed breeds are less expensive. |

I never expected to find a puppy in a week. I was actually close to getting 2 different puppies at the end of last year, but in the end, it didn't work out for one thing or another. So I had kind of given up hope. But I decided to look again because I really need a little companion. I know since I'm so picky, I'm going to have probably a harder time finding a puppy that match what I want. I don't mind waiting, but I would rather have a puppy sooner rather than later. But thanks for the help. | |

| I didn't realize that in my original post I didn't specify if I wanted a girl or a boy. Sorry about that. I am looking for a little female. Thanks again to all who have replied and given me helpful suggestions. |
