| 10 Month Old Male AKC Yorkie in Central TX for Sale Hello Everyone, I'm Tamberly/Txladi29, and I'm new to Yorkie Talk. Since finding this site, I have really enjoyed reading the posts here. Unfortunately, I'm having to post this notice to re-home my little boy, Bailey. He is so very precious, but at this time in our lives, taking care of him is a little overwhelming. He needs more attention and time than we can provide. Both my husband and I work all day, and that leaves him either in the laundry room by himself or in the front yard with my West Highland Terrier. Two weeks ago, Bailey managed to slip through the fence and the gate and get out of the yard. He went next door to visit the neighbor's new German Shepard puppies and the outcome was NOT very good. Luckily, I had the day off, and had only run a quick errand. When I returned home, he was sitting under my husband's truck, shaking. He had two small wounds to his belly area, one requiring a few stiches. The second wound was a scratch. My husband and I have discussed this a lot, and have decided that finding Bailey a new home where this can't happen again is the best thing for him. I bought him from a reputable breeder in Belton, Tx. I have contacted her in regard to finding Bailey a new home, and she did connect me with a potential new family. However, they were looking for a younger puppy for a cheaper cost. I will be happy to provide the breeder's information to the buyer for any litter/parent information that I cannot provide. You can also verify Bailey's purchase price, to be assured that I'm not trying to make money from finding him a new home. I just want to make sure he is in a loving, happy home. He would be best in a home with a playmate, as he has had a great friend in my 5 yr old West Highland Terrier. He has a lot of energy, and loves to play tug of war with Yellow Monkey, his adopted stuffed animal friend. He loves to chase tennis balls, and when done playing, cuddle so that you can rub on his belly and behind his ears. He is not yet housetrained, but is getting better with a piddle pad. A diaper on him seems to keep the accidents at bay. So, lately a diaper has been on him a lot. If taken outside, he will go to the bathroom, if he is not too busy playing. He hates the rain and cold weather, and will piddle/poop on the porch if it is raining or cold to avoid the weather He loves my children (ages 14, 11, and 3) and has been camping with us once - he did pretty good. He loves to swim in the lake (and take showers in the tub with us- don't ask...LOL) He also prefers to sleep in the bed with us, under the covers at the bottom of the bed, though he is getting better about not crying when I put him into the laundry room at night with my Westie. He is about 6 pounds and I don't anticipate him getting any larger. His father was 6lbs and his mother was 5lbs. The breeder still owns his mother. His father drowned in the breeders pool in a freak accident the day before I first saw him, around Christmas time, so I have only seen his (Leo's) pictures. Other than the stiches he has now, which come out on Wednesday, Bailey is in excellent health. He is up to date on all shots, and is currently on the flea preventative and on heartworm preventative. He is not neutered, and comes with a full AKC registration. A pedigree can be obtained from the breeder or from AKC. I'm sorry this post is so long, but I really want him to go to as good of a home he has had or better....he is so loved here, but I just feel he needs more attention, and I am scared to death that he will get out of the yard again. | I wish you all the luck in placing your baby in a new home. It must be very difficult for you. I am sure someone will snatch him away soon as they are just too cute!

| I can tell from your message that your entire family loves Bailey. I hope you will reconsider--and keep him. It wouldn't take much to secure your yard. My neighbor fixed her front yard, for her Yorkie by attaching plain chicken wire to the bottom portion of the fence and gate. Your Westie will be so lonely.

| Pictrues of Bailey - 10 month old Yorkie For some strange reason, these didn't attach to my original message. The first is from February, when I first got him...it's just too precious - I had to include it. The rest are from last night and today. I'm not real thrilled with any of them - but he moves before I can the camera to capture the cute shots.... Tamberly / txladi29 |

| thank you for your kindness Thank you all...you are all so sweet and good hearted. I just love the spirit here! I'm trying oh so hard to convince my husband that we can keep him (he is a wonderful, caring man, but the driving force behind the post.) I did teach Bailey to sit today and he really has it down. Plus, we have had NO potty accidents in the house, or on the piddle pad. I attribute this to the diaper - he just won't even try to go potty with it on. So, thank you for your support and kind words. If I can convince my husband to keep him, you may see this post for his adoption cancelled. Warmest Regards, Tamberly / Txladi29 |

| Tamberly- With regard to the potty training, are you giving him full roam of the house? If he isnt potty trained yet, you may want to try an ex pen set up. Unless they are confined to a smaller area, its hard for them to remember to go back to the pad. As mine got better about using the pad, I would give them more space. They didnt get the whole house until they were 100% trained. I have attached pics of what I used with Tino and Bunny... I made sure that after they woke up from a nap and after they played for about thirty minutes, I would put them in the ex pen on the pad and stand over them and say "Go Potty!" until they went. Then I would make a huge deal about it and give them treats. I also used the Four Paws Housebreaking Aid drops. They put a smell on the pads that makes them go on that spot. Maybe if you could get him potty trained Hubby would be more receptive? Good luck and keep us posted!

| Tara, Where did you get your pen? I have not seen one like that? I have that sme kind of area under my bar and I had not thought to use it like that! I would just have to store my bar stools upstairs for a while. Great idea- it is out of the way yet still in the middle of everything so the pups do not get lonely.

I lost my Precious on the 4th and she always laid on the recliner by her Daddy til they went to bed...He misses her at bedtime the worst!!! Please keep us posted so we will all know where Bailey is! |

| Hi everyone, Thank you all for your notes and suggestions. At this time in our lives, keeping him is just not an option. There are a lot of factors affecting this decision that I just can't go into. I'm so sorry.....please understand. This is very hard for me and the reason's for finding him a new home is not just dependent on whether Bailey is potty trained or not. (In fact, I can say that he has not had an accident in the house at all this week. ) He is a sweetie, has beautiful coloring. I was looking foward to not only loving and enjoying his company, but breeding him later. I have been contacted by a woman named mailimjt/Jonnalyn who lives in Copperas Cove, about 45 minutes from me. She has a Yorkie-Pom mix puppy and is wanting a purebreed Yorkie for a brother to her puppy. She works nights, so she will be there with the babies during the day. If all works out, I'll post pictures of Bailey with his new mommy. Please give me your understanding and support, and know that I'm crying as I write this post. My husband was not the decision maker on this (he was behind it, but I had to make this decision, and it has not been an easy one at all.) Thank you all - you are a wonderful group, and I hope to be able to be able to be back here in a few years. Bailey can never be replaced in my heart, but perhaps I'll be in the position where I can adopt another Yorkie into my home and heart in the future.
