| I agree with you 100 percent, if people cannot afford vet bills then they shouldn't have an animal. I have persians and they are very expensive to maintain..so I think that anyone who is looking for an animal, make sure you have the money to take care of the animal before you purchase it! |

| I have had animals my whole life. We raised apple head siamese when I was younger. We have never spent the kind of money on animals as people on here spend. In my life of raising cats we probably never spent over 1,000 dollars on them (all). Most people don't have to spend it. I tend to think forums like this show more of the bad than the good. If you are having to spend a lot on your animal you are more likely to look for support in a place like this. I only know of one person in my life that has spent a major amount of money on a pet. No one else has ever needed to. Some people should realize this site has a disportionate amount of high vet bills because it has people searching for help on it. jmo Now, more and more puppy mills are cropping up as demand for these dogs grows. So the faults in the dogs are multiplying and it is definately possible to spend it. But not everyone has to. Plus a lot of husbands refuse to let their wives spend that kind of money in the beginning, even richer husbands. That doesn't mean they can't or won't pay for vet bills. The rules on here are the rules. We should find a nice way of telling people that didn't see the post about the rules. Maybe saying, "hope you find one, but be careful, a post asking for reduced price dogs is subject to be deleted by the administrators". This wouldn't draw unnecc. fire to someone who is "just stating the rules" and if they want to be mean they can say the rules bluntly realizing it makes them sound mean. Some people don't care and don't have to this is just an a message board. And some people are just going to be mean to new people. I have noticed that. I think though there are ways to get the rules across with out having to go off on newbies. I think most of us don't read all the rules before we post our first question. Others of us, like me, lurk on here for a long time before our first post or even before joining. |

That was a really nice way of saying that. And I'll admit, I'm not sure I read all the rules before my first post.

| I wonder what it said too .. I have to say on this topic of spending thousands on a pup.. Im sure if some of you seen when I was looking for my little male there way alot of people who told me about diffrent sites to look and diffrent people to talk to but man when i seen 1200$ for a baby .. I myself am sorry I don't see the point in having to spend that much for a pup that i had no plan on breeding or showin.. instead i would rather find one a bit cheaper and use they rest of that money to spoil him and use on my vet bills .. im not sayin i can't afford to spend it i just personaly don't see the point.. Thats JMO! |

| Saw it too, and although when thinking of my own situation, I snickered, there are sadly a lot of situations where that is the reality....

| I know..this is rediculous. Everytime someone copy and pastes admin's exact wording of the rules, some people feel the need to get all riled up and say that person is rude for posting the rules. They are the rules and are supposed to be followed...it's not rude to post them and its getting really old seeing people call others rude for it. The rules are there for a reason and maybe people need to be more careful about reading them.

I don't believe Siamese cats are supposed to be apple-headed... About the husbands...I'm not married currently but my future husband isn't "letting" me or "not letting" me do anything...I'll do what I want to do.

| Hahahaha, I didn't notice that before. Unless it's my fiance's money, I don't care what he "lets" me spend my money on.
