according to the animal I have had animals my whole life. We raised apple head siamese when I was younger. We have never spent the kind of money on animals as people on here spend. In my life of raising cats we probably never spent over 1,000 dollars on them (all). Most people don't have to spend it. I tend to think forums like this show more of the bad than the good. If you are having to spend a lot on your animal you are more likely to look for support in a place like this. I only know of one person in my life that has spent a major amount of money on a pet. No one else has ever needed to. Some people should realize this site has a disportionate amount of high vet bills because it has people searching for help on it. jmo
Now, more and more puppy mills are cropping up as demand for these dogs grows. So the faults in the dogs are multiplying and it is definately possible to spend it. But not everyone has to.
Plus a lot of husbands refuse to let their wives spend that kind of money in the beginning, even richer husbands. That doesn't mean they can't or won't pay for vet bills.
The rules on here are the rules. We should find a nice way of telling people that didn't see the post about the rules. Maybe saying, "hope you find one, but be careful, a post asking for reduced price dogs is subject to be deleted by the administrators". This wouldn't draw unnecc. fire to someone who is "just stating the rules" and if they want to be mean they can say the rules bluntly realizing it makes them sound mean. Some people don't care and don't have to this is just an a message board. And some people are just going to be mean to new people. I have noticed that. I think though there are ways to get the rules across with out having to go off on newbies. I think most of us don't read all the rules before we post our first question. Others of us, like me, lurk on here for a long time before our first post or even before joining. |
