| He must have liked it okay because he suggested finding a show in another state for us to attend on his weekend off. The competition is so very fierce here and he heard Barbara of Stratford tell me that she took one of her males to Florida and finished him in 2 weekends when he wasn't doing well here. He really surprised me with that suggestion. We can't both leave for any length of time as I have 2 8 week old pups and a gal about to whelp. I guess I'm just a little discouraged about Connor always getting reserve. Poor boy, always the bridegroom, never the bride. I have 2 gals that will be in the same class so I'm glad he liked it cause I will definitely need his help. This is my other gal Carly, she's a bit shy so I don't know, I may start her UKC first as she already has 60 points with them. I think I'm gonna need tougher skin!

| LOL LOL..we have well known breeders here in Florida, going to PA to finish theirs..the grass is always greener somewhere else...they like a smaller, darker, cobby Yorkie here in southern Florida... |

| I noticed that the judge at this Specialty, Janet Jackson, liked them small, dark, and cobby as well. Danali is dark but quite square and she weighs 5 lbs. so she doesn't quite fit the criteria. The person who took her dogs to Florida to finish the was Barbara of Stratford and her dogs are long legged and dark. I guess you just never know.

| The winds changes back and forth as to type...don't be discouraged...there are plenty of judges who will like your dogs. Years, and I means YEARS ago my UK friend imported a bitch..bred Laura to a nice male of hers. She got two lighter, leggy males...and you should have heard the comments when she showed them. Too much leg,, too sliver, too long...too big, She was just about ready to throw in the towel when we went to the Rock Creek show and here comes Ron Scott with Lace. I literally gasped out loud. Lace was the most beautiful Yorkie I had laid eyes on...her coat flowed like chiffon...billowed in the breeze as she walked across the grass to the ring..She was very leggy, same color as my friends potentials and not a cobby small girl at all..she was regal... So the tide turned and many went that way...and it has taken years to turn again, but it seems to be back to an earlier type..but SILK. Although, type is really a matter of breeder taste IMO...we will always see many types and all types will be considered correct if the breeder perfers that type..LOL |
