| I was always told they should judge for that day and not assume anything that may happen/not happen in the future. How do you feel about that? Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |

| judges In a perfect world of fair judging, the best of the day would win each time. In all fairness to the judge, who is to say that the judge did nto think the sooty headed was the best that day...example... 4dogs are entered 9 to 12 months.. 1 is sooty headed, but clearing, good ear set, good color texture, sound structure, moves well, trained well.. 2 is cleared to a rich gold, but has a bad top line...and poor ear set.. 3rd entry is also rich gold in the head, shows poorly, refuses to walk, and structure is iffy, you really need to see it move to be sure.. 4th entry is clear gold, good structure, but oversized..and only 9 months so it may well grow larger.. Which would you put up...I woudl select the first one with soot..taking into account it was clearing and at maturity it would be rich gold..a chance, but better to pick soot IMO then those other faults that will for the most part not correct... topknot - How fun you know that pup! I'm sure several more here do also, but I've just always had that question, and fell in love when I saw that pup, so I just used it as an example to show what I was asking. I love that face!! | |
