| questions re show dogs Hello All YT folks interested in showing. I am a recent (oct) yorkie girl mama . I have a beautiful little girl who originated in Hungary. She has Champions on both sides , is my little angel, i AM enjoying her immensely! She has the cutest face and "good hair" etc. but she has a full tail as they are not allowed to dock these in Hungary. my question is : could she be in a show or not? Also, do all yorkies have some drainage (clear, tear like) from eyes in the corners nearest the nose or is this a fault? It is not severe but I do notice it during th e day "wicking" the tears away and onto her furnishings. I am very interested in show dogs and all things related to yorkies! Best of luck to all of you in your show endeavors! Kimberly S. |

| Who did you buy her from? Kennel name? Yes, Hungary has some beautiful yorkies! Actually in Hungary, I think you can still dock tails (not against the law yet)- but more and more just just are doing this less and less. How old is your female? Around 8 months? You do not have to have a docked tail here in America - AKC to show, but hard to get the points without a docked tail. AKC standard for tail: Tail "Docked to a medium length and carried slightly higher than the level of the back. " Tear duct - looks like she is getting her hair in her eyes. Pin her bangs up and use some vaseline on the hairs to help hold them back away from her eyes. Welcome to YT!! T. Last edited by topknot; 01-22-2007 at 02:10 AM. |

| dog show hi, in europe lot of country it's now against the law docking tails, in france with still have the choise to do it or not, but not for long. more and more breeder stop dock tail to pr?pare every one to the " new look" of yorkies, plus for dog show in a year we won't be able to show in some country beceause of the law so i'll be hard to made a internationnal champion in that condition. at the moment i have 5 puppy with natural tail, the sire and grand_father are international champion that why i took the d?cision not to dock any more, even if all won't be dog show . here some photo

| Your baby is beautiful! I love the short tight topline! Are you still coming to the Nationals in NY? It's the three days before Westminster. I'd love to meet you while I'm there.
