Saw that someone was looking for conformation classes (we have web-stats). Contact Nashville Dog Training club for handler classes, if they are looking to handle the dog themselves. If they are looking for a handler, there is one located in Hendersonville at Doggie Daze Grooming. Very experienced in grooming for show and handling multiple breeds.

Anyone have any ideas for trainer or conformation class in the San Bernardino/Palm Springs CA area? I'm jealous that you have that much in TN.

Contact Yorkshire Terrier of Greater Los Angeles....they will lead you in the right direction. Of course, you have Janet Jackson (President of YTCA) living very close to you, she definately will be a great help.

Out of my litter I have a little male that is wonderful. His coat his walk he aims to please. He is not a barker, he is small. Is it second nature to know a show dog? I know no question is stupid but he is incredible. 9 weeks old now comes when you call him sits and has this very head up walk with his tail straight the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I know there is no mentor program for Yorkies but this puppy I just have a gut feeling.

My suggestion to you is continue watching him. 9 weeks the about the time you start to watch a potential.....but, a firm decision can't be made for a few months yet. Attending a dog show, to get a yorkie/exhibitor or a AKC judge to evaluate him would be a good place to start. But, in the mean time start doing some preliminary training with him, stacking him on grooming table, socializing him...etc. I see you're from Syracuse, NY......The YTCA/YTofNY Specialty is being held at the New Yorker Hotel in Manhattan, Feb 9-11....if you can get there with your puppy it would be a great place to have him evaluated.....lots of well known experienced exhibitor/breeders will be there.
