| Some clubs are different and can start younger, but in AKC it is as follows: Novice: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 on the day of the show and who at time have not won three first place awards with competition present. Open: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 on the day of show and who have won three first place awards in a Novice class with competition present. Junior, Intermediate and Senior classes: Each of the regular classes may be divided by age into Junior, Intermediate and Senior classes provided the division is specified in the premium list. A junior class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 and under 12 on the day of show. The Intermediate class whall be for those who are at least 12 years old and under 15 the day of show. The Senior class shall be for those who are at least 15 and under 18 the day of the show. I got this information out of myJunior Showmanship rule book. |
