Umm what is the discounted rate? Cause I am seeing the rates at $289 a night

I would love to attend but WOW. I live in a hick town and am not sure this little hick girl could sleep in a fancy bed like that..lol
Is there a super 8 or motel 6 nearby

for us ummm patrons on a budget?

We all share rooms together discounted rate is $209 plus taxes. If you get a room with two double beds, and split between 3 is no so bad. It's great to stay at the hotel, because everything is so close, and you get to meet all the great Yorkie folks.

I know I shared last year with Pam, and we just met each other at the show. We had such a good time.

Put it out here on the list that you want to share with a couple of gals, that is how Pam and I found each other last year.

when you call the Hotel direct, You Must say I NEED SPECIAL IN HOUSE RESERVATION or they will transfer you to the 800 # no matter what # you call.
Those are the magic words. Trust me it works and I have used them for 14 yrs!!!!

Our room is already booked at the New Yorker. I am so excited I can hardly wait to meet everyone.

I always book our room for NY in May or June LOL...and typically I already have my plane ticket but sheesh the airfare is still out of my range right now. I"m sure I"ll pay whatever to NY but I'd really like it under $300! I always share a room with someone in NY...there are 3 of us in a room this year like it was this past Feb! I couldn't go unless I shared a room with someone!

Oh My .. Westminster. Razz could go I guess. But that is invitation only I think, and as well there is a lottery for uninvited champs.

IDK it is a benched show and hubby says he doesn't want to do, and says I'm not good enough for Westminster. He is so protective of Razz man. That I would not be able to show him well enough.

I will ask my breeder what she thinks. I know we show him at the NYC specialty, but I don't know about Westminster.

It's just that if we go all that way why not do it all? Anyhow I have a few weeks to think about it.

I would suggest going to watch Westminster first before showing, I made that mistake and it was so overwhelming LOL...it is sooooooooooo crowded in the benching area! Make sure you have help so someone can relieve you for breaks. I do the most of my grooming in the room before going over to the Garden so I don't have to do anything except the top knot when I'm over at the Garden. The crowd is unbelieveable!!! Our benches are can you say a sardine can? LOL But it is fun!!
Those that aren't in the top 5 can try for the lottery once they give the date of when we can send in the entry. That will be once the top 5 in each breed are announced and I think then once that is posted or a certain date that is when you can mail in your entry to Westminster.

Awh Thanks Donna we have been involved with Westminster with the Blackies. So yes, it is a huge crush of people. And definitely you need help. Do you book your time in the grooming area for the Yorkies, or just groom at the bench?

Beyond everything else I'd be worried about, is how do the Yorkies do at this environment. I wouldn't want to put Razz in the Expen area for his washroom breaks at all. He is outside trained.

I groom at the bench but most of my grooming is done in the room and I do the top knot at the bench.

No outside will be allowed

You'll have to either xpen in the public xpens or bring pee pads with you if he'll go. Radar never goes until we get back to the room. The yorkies don't seem to mind the environment if you have an outgoing dog. It has never seemed to faze Radar or the other dogs. As you know, you can't take your dogs outside the building once they are in until they release us at 8:00 p.m.

I have my room too now. You just cannot call after 5 PM, because then it goes to a company that books for many hotels and they cannot help with these room reservations. I am really looking forward to going!

No, I won't be showing - I'll be tagging along with Lisa and George - Vicki will be showing George in the Specialty. This will be a learning experience for me. Although I never intend to be a handler, I do need to learn the ropes just in case I have to belly up and take one in the ring.

Will you be showing? Oh I can't wait to see all of these magnificent dogs, owners and handlers. I have never been one to be "star struck" for actors -- I mean shoot they are just people whose job is acting, or singing, etc. But I just might get a case at Westminster
