| dog show vendor question Opinions please. I really need to hear from some of you who have experience with dog shows. I'm thinking of selling bows at a local tri-area dog show. The show will last 4 days: Thursday-Sunday, but I can only attend 1 day and I'm not sure which day to go. Do you think the exhibitors will be interested in bows, I know I always love to see new bows, and they are good quality bows , but then, I don't have a show dog. If they would be shopping would the first day of the show be my best day or should I wait for Saturday, and hope I'll have more spectators shopping. Ooor should I just stay home, I will have a small shop compared to some of the big companies. Please be honest, I'd really like to know. Cathy, mom to Sarge and Lexi |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | You asked for honesty and I will be just that. If all you are offering is dog bows, I don't think a dog show will be that lucrative for you. IDK what the booth rental is, but would think you may not sell enough bows to pay for the rental. I think most established show people already have their favorites for bow purchases. And, unless you are offering something that is totally new, different and out of this world gorgeous, you won't have many sales. But, don't give up - attend the dog show and see what the other vendors offer. That will give you a better idea of what you might offer at the next show to be competitive. If you still want to go through with this, I would recommend setting upon Sat. Not only will you have most of the show people there, but also the general public is more likely to attend on a Sat. Post some pictures of your bows - I would love to see them!

| Thanks for the honest opinions, I knew you would be helpful. I may go ahead and do it, just for the experience and the chance to get my bows a little exposure. By just going one day, the cost is not bad. If anyone ever has the time I would love to have you pm me with any advice you have as experienced owners as to what you look for when buying or making a bow. I'm always eager to learn. Thank You! | I thought one would have to buy a rental spot for the whole show and not just one day. Usually that is very expensive. Like others have mentioned show exhibitors have the ones they buy from already but if you make bows for pet owners I'd stay for all 4 days because one day is not going to be beneficial in my opinion. I'd go to the shows like the above posted said and give a few away to gather business Good Luck Donna |
