Can someone explain the difference between the cottony and the soft coat?

I'll try LOL...a cotton coat is wooley, wavey and a very thick thick coat and feels just like what a cotton ball would feel like.
A soft coat is a gentler version of a cotton coat which has been mixed with a silk coat, it's still warm to the touch like a cotton coat and a thicker coat but not as thick and can be somewhat straighter than a cotton coat. I wish you lived closer because I have both in the house and a modified silk coated yorkie lol
Just imagine a bunch of cotton balls bunched together and imagine the feel and the thickness ect...

Thanks I think I get the idea. But isn't wooly different than cottony? Perhaps more course? I have one that I would not consider cottony but also not silk so I guess hers is the modified silk. She us black. It's easy to care for but not shiney like the silk is.

My 2 cotton coated yorkies have the most woolist legs on the planet LOL...a cotton coat isn't coarse at all. You can for sure tell the difference when they say a silk coat is cool to the touch.

or she could be a soft coat instead of a cotton coat. There is a difference in all those textures...
Once you really feel a silk coat you'll know the real meaning behind what they feel like.
When you feel a cotten coat you'll always know and the same with the other coat types.....unless one becomes kennel blind :)

Well it is difficult, due to a nerve disorder, I have no feeling in my hands so I have to go by looks and feeling them on my face.

It was clear to me as soon as I saw this thread dragged up whose post would be the last. I don't like to be rude, but if you have a "problem" with someone in particular, why don't you just spit it out so he or she can address it. Some people wanted to see the thread because they couldn't believe it could possibly be true. Here it is.

I don't know any of you from Adam. Some user names stand out because of the messages they post. This was one of them.

I did suggest to one YT member who pm'd me that she contact the person directly, but she said she didn't feel comfortable.

If she wants to come forward and confirm that, fine. If not, that's fine too.

I brought forward a confession of misconduct. You can condemn me, my motives and it still doesn't change that fact.

I don't condemn anyone except those who abuse animals and humans but for motives not worth the effort LOL...

I want to confess that I've am guilty of misconduct too and will happily stand in judgement...I've put hairspray, styling gel, conditioning spray and anti-stat in my dog and that's a fact please with my blessing file a complaint.

Well, if the YT member is uncomfortable it's a shame because really we don't bite we welcome questions and have no problem answering them :)

True enough. I have noticed that there are posters who provide valuable service to the community of this forum sharing their knowledge and obvious passion for the breed. Sadly, others "not so much" and some people just seem to want to cause trouble.
