Barb,

Showing isn't cheap by any means......but, I know you've talked about it being your dream to get back into it......I'd hate to see you not make that dream to come to fruition......and a few years from now sit at ring side kicking yourself in the butt....saying I could of, should of.

Donna, I know all this. Just easier said than done. Just because I can't show that much right now does not mean I can't still go and cheer on my friends occasionally.

Nothing wrong with coming and cheering friends on Barb but you keep saying your gonna get in the ring....Please don't take offense i'm just trying to tell you showing and sitting on the sidelines is two different things, either you are going to do it or not...excuses aren't gonna get you there...I am just being honest here :)

If you've made the effort of getting to the show....well bring your dog with you and get in the ring......

Remember the lady that was a member of Bluebonnet....the one that only showed on Saturday's and never on Sunday's and very selective on her shows.....cause she had to be at church and couldn't understand why she couldn't finish her dog......well she's no longer showing and went on to breeding Yorkies to Chi's

Well, you can't finish dogs by not traveling and sitting on the sidelines or just breeding yorkies....either you are going to show or breed can't be any plainer than that...sorry this is blunt but I can't explain it any other way...I can't sugar coat how it is.

I'm sorry if this is blunt and off topic but it bothers me to see people give advice or opinions regarding showing and what it involves when they have very little experience in the ring with yorkies or hasn't shown that much especially when they don't have a champion. This is not directed at anyone but we have to remember that newbies read these posts and should be getting the best advice from more experienced exhibitors and not anyone that just attends occassionally....sorry I'm actually not into sugar coating the truth...and it's up to experienced exhibitors to offer the best advice possible.

Well, I haven't really had anything ready for the show ring. When the time is right I will get back out there. I have learned a lot just by going to shows and watching.

Donna,

I agree.....our code of ethics and conduct states we are to help the newbies coming up....after all they are who we will be leaving the breed too.

Didn't you buy a bitch from Byrnstar??? Isn't she show worthy? What about the 2 girls you just mentioned? They are old enough to show now. What Mary said was easy...if you are going why not take a yorkie with you and show it? You are there? Just curious is all...

I bought a male from Brynstar, he is a nice boy but he really messed up his topknot (my fault for not watching it closer) and I am not going to show him until I feel he is ready. I don't have the money to show so that is it. I did not start this thread to start a argument. Sorry if I upset anyone. I think everyone missed to whole point.

I don't think that anyone missed the point on Sportsman Like Conduct.......It's what should be practiced in any Sport and by everyone....however, that is in a perfect world and doesn't always happen.

No one is starting an arguement.....but, on several threads you've stated that you want to get back into the ring and there are those that are here willing to help you.......If it's about the money, well that's another story and very well understood, no other excuses are necessary. You can't do it, you can't do it.......but, if you can get to a show to watch, save up that extra $28 x 2 and enter your dog......get in there and be part of the excitement that I know that you want to be part of......I can hear it in your posts.

Mary is right nobody missed the point of the thread :) No arguments just that we are trying to help you and if you don't have the money there is nothing you can do but as Mary pointed out if you can drive to the show and you know you are wanting to go even if you end up not going save the entry fee money it's not that expensive in your area to enter a show :) and if your going anyway why not enter?
Also, breeding yorkies isn't a cheap endeavor either....if not more expensive than showing in my humble opinion...

If you are talking about Singling out/Shunning people that is not Sportmanship
Good Ole Buddy System is what you girls are talking about.
