Yes, I heard from Kathy. She called me I think Monday evening around supper time and is okay. She has been without electricity since Ike hit and has one generator, but working on trying to get another. I know what you mean though - since I was worried to death about her until she called. Can you believe it -she called me to wish me congrats on my girl finishing. She is so sweet! T. | |

Thank god she called you. We have been trying to get word on her. I lost her number I had it saved in my cell and well I killed that cell phone and lost everything in it. Grooming and yakking on the phone don't mix! ROFL. Thanks Tina, I am thrilled to know she is OK, I hate that she is without power but so glad to know she is OK! Deana Prestigeous Yorkies

Deanna, I talked to Kathy today. She lives just a few miles from me. We are both still without electricity. Hopefully it will be back on in our area by Wednesday. She has generators but not enough juice to use the internet. All the dogs are fine. We are running on a generator too. I am looking forward to having air conditioning again. I hope all is well with you.

Oh bless your heart. I cannot imagine what you girls are going thru. It is so hard with the dogs and for us when it goes out for just a few hours. I am glad to know you are also OK. I was in tears when I saw how bad TX got hit. I hate for anyone to have to to go thru so much devistation. Can I ask how your daughter is doing? I think of her often and whisper a prayer for her and her family Deana Prestigeous Yorkies

Deana, thanks for your concerns. Michelle is doing great! She is without electricity too but is staying at her church. She had her stitches removed on Friday and she is free of those horrible headaches. She is not sure when the next surgery will be but she is hoping not until after Christmas. It has been rough dealing with Ike. We had a huge oak tree fall on our house and we have lots of roof damage but we are able to stay in the house. We just have a lot of work ahead of us.

Such wonderful news for Michelle and your family. You will have your hands full when you get electricity back on thats for sure, I am glad it didn't do so much damage that you weren't able to stay in your own home. It is so hard not being home. I cannot imagine the ones who lost their homes Deana Prestigeous Yorkies

Right after my previous post our electricity came back on. Thank goodness. The dogs are so happy to have cool air again. Hopefully Kathy will have hers on soon too. It is so sad about all the people that lost their homes and those that lost their lives. I am been down to Bolivar Peninsula and Galveston many times and it is so sad what happened to all those homes and businesses. I heard that the highway on Bolivar Peninsula is washed away along with most of the beach houses. Many of you may have heard about the young boy that was killed when his dad was cutting down a tree before the hurricane hit. That boy was a friend of my 10 year old grandson and he and his father attended the same church that Michelle and her family attend. It was so sad.
