YT 1000 Club Member | I have questions. Okay Friday is doing really well in her conformation classes. I have learned that chicken is a good motivator for her but also that when she is being examined to have a hard treat she can focus on. So my questions aren't regarding that. They are however more in regards to her coat. How soon do you start doing anything extra to the coats? What are the best products to use? These are the items I am using now. CC Silk Spirits and Coat Handler Shampoo. Are these good enough or is there something that is way better. Oh and she is 18weeks yesterday. I am showing her in a few puppy fun matches on Aug. 24th, aug. 30 and sept.13 Is there anything I need to be doing besides the classes to get her ready?

| Lori one of the other gals on here I spoke with loves the Summerwind products. I am going to try them. They swear by them. I think alot of it is individual as I suppose all their coats are slightly different but I will try most anything once. Kisses to that cute girl of yours. Can't wait to see her again soon! |

| We have used with success... * Summerwinds Protect-a-coat * Neutrogena body oil * Almond Oil (from GNC) * #1 All Systems Lanolin I prefer to use the Protect-a-Coat because it smells good...has been restorative to the skin and coat for those we have used it on and it is not greasy. I hate having them all oiled up. Your dog can have a reaction to different products, unfortunately it does happen. We had trouble with Laser Lites products...I will never use them again!

| I just started using #1 All Systems Pure Lanolin with the Protein conditioner on my show dogs. Lanolin is natural, it can even be safely consumed by babies. The lanolin will go into the skin instead of sitting on top of it so it won't clog the pores. Connor and Denali have been in it for over a week and so far no flakes. I told Barbara Beissel what I had been told to use on Connor and complained about the flaking that resulted and she commented that she is always amazed at the junk that people use on their yorkies. The product that I had been using was little more than mineral oil. Artificially colored expensive baby oil basically.
