| ![]() I have made alot of show bows and most of the people like the rubber bands. A few people do like the barretts better. I have tried both and I can't get the barrett to stand up right on the topknot. Denise (Indigo) |

| ![]() Hi Denise! Yep, I completely agree. It just seems the barrettes seem to lay rather flat. Good show bows are expensive unless you make your own, but well worth the price. It takes hours to make quality bows. To me, it's just one of those things where you get what you pay for and I want my guys to have the best when they walk into the ring. I'm so excited, Mary is making CJ an incredible new bow for his return to the show ring at Bluebonnet.

| ![]() All my show bow customers request bands. Adding a barrette flattens the back. The bow should curve in the back so it hugs the topknot. |

| ![]() Glad to hear CJ is coming back out. Show bows are expensive, that's the reason I make my own and I enjoy doing it. Most people don's realize how long it takes to get a bow stiffened properly and make it look right. If the bows are just slightly off center it can make the topknot look off. Again good luck with CJ. | ![]() I use the bands too, but I first used the barrettes... once i learned how to place the bow in one movement by double wrapping the bands it made doing the topknot much easier... |
