Jackie she is a living doll too! I don't what I'd do if I was in your shoes having to choose with ones to keep or which ones to adopt out. You sure have a job in choosing as they are all living dolls. I love thier coloring. Hugs

I will definately find a spot for her in my heart if she just "does not get there"...LOL.

My little gal is 4.8 and she is 9 months tomorrow. She has been stuck at 4.8 since she turned about 6 mos.....and she is quite the stinker too......but, I think I am going for it....!!!! So we will see in August.

I am learning about the "clearing thing" on the head.....not sure I totally understand it all....just hoping that Paddy will make size, cuz I love her coloring.....

Jackie...tell me about the thumbprint theory???

Thank you for your encouragement. I do also think she will make size. I am very optimistic. I will look for that thread and judges! Things are very different now than they were 15 years ago! A lot has changed in the standard. Some for the good and some NOT.

On the clearing thing, I too think it's not a good sign when they clear too quickly, it's just hard to wait so long to show when you are excited about it

Is there a thread that has a list of judges and things they do or do not like? Maybe that would be a good thread to start? Or is that like asking for other people to do the work for ya? I don't want to come across like I want others to "give" away good information they have worked hard to collect. Maybe it's not like that here on Yorkie Talk, but some people are very protective of what they have learned> I don't see that here

I totally agree. If they clear too soon - you will have a lighter color yorkie. I prefer one rich in color - and those do not clear right away. I prefer them clearing between 2 and 3 years of age. Many of your European breeders will tell you the same thing. With richer color - JMO - you get better structure.

This is why you get a catalog at the door and write in notes as to what each yorkie looks like and add in what the judge likes. Then when you get home and you are trying to decide on wether or not to enter your dog under a certain judge - you can look back and see what type of yorkie s/he put up. This has been very helpful to me. Once you know lines - you can look back at onofrio and see on the computer what placed by certain judges and get somewhat of a good idea. You can also see if those dogs that placed are on a web page (breeders page) and get some idea there too of what the dog looked like.

Thanks Tina...she has her mom's face but with much better coloring and coat...YAY...exactly what I wanted with this breeding...I got her now I need her to grow for me! <sigh> I am "hope"ful...

Our breeder in Europe always tells me...this way you do not have to run to get your paint brush like so many do...lol.
