| A roach back is a conformation fault in most breeds of dogs. It is a hump in the back. An extreme example is the Bedlington Terrier. I am a top-line fanatic!!! Its got to be straight and level. Heads clear at different times for different lines. It isnt a gender thing. I have had heads clear at 1 1'2 years and some at 6 years and some that never cleared. |

Wow that's something about the heads clearing, so I guess I won't give up yet on Galahads' head clearing. I was worried about it. I'm still learning all this and I do greatly appreciate all your help. Hugs Lee

| A thrumbprint is the black/dark blue hairs that the yorkies has on its head until it clears. The most common place for these is between the eyes extending into the topknot and on the sides of the topknot in front of the ears.

I am trying to find out some more books I need to get to learn from as I would like to order them all at the same time to save on postage. I have 2 on my list that I know I need and am going to get just waiting a little while longer to see if any more Experienced Show Breeders or Experienced Show Exhibitors will suggest more and I want to thank you for your suggestion on the book that you told me to get...That's one of them I'm going to get. Thanks and Hugs Lee

Books: * The Yorkshire Terrier by Gordan and Bennett (Wildweir Owners/breeders) * The Joy of Breeding YOur Own Show Dog by Ann Seranne (Mayfair owner/breeder) * The Book of The Yorkshire Terrier by Joan McDonald Brearley (mostly for information on lines and photo examples) Then I would get the video tapes/CD by Sweetyblue for grooming, handling, etc... Thanks for letting me know about your web page. It is best to ask than not. T.
