Rose, Is he out of Crosswinds as well? He's a cutie, how old is he? |
what a fantastic thread! Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed these photos. These are the dogs that make us fall in love with the breed! They are absolutely beautiful. I also found it interesting to see puppies in the show. I didn't realize puppies showed as well...very cool. I'll have to work with my Trixie to get her to sit now :) (6 mos already) Thanks for the photos! |

HE IS 15.2 WEEK'S OLD AND 2.10 POUND'S |
He's a doll Rose, I hope he gets big enough to show. I've heard Dot's has nice dogs but don't know the rest of the kennels in the pedigree. Someone else must know more than I. Preston weighs 4 pounds at almost 7 months old, I keep telling him to grow, baby, grow. |
I am like you if they doubled his weight at 12 weeks he is be around 4.5 to 5 but we know how that goes he is 7x7.1/4 right now kinda little fingers crossed:D |
1 Attachment(s) Best of luck with your new boy! :) Here is a photo of my Chrissy from Dot's line. This photo was taken in 1991. Her mother was Dot's True Success and her parents were CH. Dot's Sneak Preview of PPS and Dot's Banana Sundae. Both of their sires were CH. Dot's Top Banana. She was just our pet and not showing then. We were so busy with our own kids. I just thought you would enjoy seeing photos. It looks like Dot's line (from looking at Chrissy's pedigree) goes back to Beholda. T. |

he looks alot like her thank's so much for posting picture she is a doll |
Congrats on your new boy! He is just darling, I hope she turns from hopeful to show pro! |
When you post relations in a pedigree, try to show it like a family tree. You know parents, then grandparents, etc.. You have to show who is connected to know. It is hard when you list them. But you are fine - it is what we normally would do. See how I did it? It is hard to do it on a forum or n word to show it like a family tree, so we have to explain who is to whom. And don't worry about AKC numbers and colors. Just list the names. I hope this comes off as polite, since I am trying to make it that way. I mean no harm. T. |
Boy, you can tell I wrote the above at 1:00 AM. What I meant was that if you tell in word form whom are the parents and grandparents, people can understand it better. List the dogs - no one can tell who are the parent, grandparents, or even the great grandparents. One does not know what generation the dogs are in. That's all. I hope you understand. :D T. |
3 Attachment(s) Here is one of my babies - Knight. He is just 10 weeks old here. His sire is a Champion and my Felicity (Cici) is the mom. I may put her in the ring after this litter to see how she does. Her coat is to the floor now and she is very elegant looking. Very silky coat. I was not going to show her, but the owner of the stud said that she thought she owuld do very well. Litter pedigree on Knight - All grandparents and great-grandparents are champions. I know the photo is not so good. I will try to take better photos this weekend with me in a light colored outfit. My dark dress does not help to show his topline off. T. |
those in the pedigree are all top side fathers side from grandfather back y are right it will not let you post in the format you want i would be posting for ever if i did both side it was just meant to be a few of dot's dog to see if anyone was familar with them same for me to late at night to be posting your little boy is very nice why not try and show him if he has it go fo it |
You can find free pedigee software downloads on line. Then if you want to ever post it on line...it shows you generationally. |
I know what you mean - it is easier in format just to list the dogs. Problem is you can't tell whom his parents, grandparents, greats, or great-greats gr are. But I totally understand. And yes, I can see some similarities in my girl (Chrissy 0f Dot's line) and your male. Here is a list of her relatives she had: Doubled up on Ch. Dot's Top Banana Dot's True Sucess Ch. Dot's Sneak Preview Dot's Banana Sundae Ch. Dot's Blue Clico Patches Ch. Dot's Penny Poo Bear Ch. Beholda Flyaway Jack Ch. Clarkwyn Double Eagle Dot's Blue Melody Ch. Clarkwyn Jubilee Eagle Chrissy (nickname Schimoo) is gone now - went to the Rainbow Bridge about 4 years ago. I miss her something fearse. She was my special baby. I had her as my only pet yorkie while my children where growing. I bred her once to Ethel and Michel (Mickey) Feigelson's champion male. It produced one male - Mickey. I still have him today. He is neutered and just my baby. He looks a lot like his mama. Kyblue - What are the names of the parents of your male? What does he have on his dam's side? And yes, I will probably show my male's mom (Cici). She must wait in line for the others to finish. I will probably keep Knight, the male I pictured above. He is looking very promising. But must play out the waiting game and see if he does pan out. T. |
Rose - I didn't know you were asking about the Dot line. My first Yorkie's sire is from Dot's. I bought her from Glenda Beavers. One of my Yorkie books has a paragraph or 2 on Dots. I will pull it out and see if there is anything you would be interested in. |
What would be great is of we had photos of the dogs with parents and grandparents. This would be a great tool to have to see what produced what and have people learn about lines. Rose - you can see some photos of Dot's yorkies in "The Book of the Yorkshire Terrier." See pages 311, 152, 227, 235, 236, 262, 298 T. |

I agree, I love these old books. This is one of my favorites. The Yorkshire Terrier by S Jessop published in 1920. I found it on e-bay. You should try to find it. It is very interesting. It gives a good insight into grooming and showing at that time. There is a guy that sells antique books at shows. I could spend hours at his booth. I got a great book on Yorkies from him in Fredericksburg. The only problem is he charges an outrageous price if they are frst editions. |
