| Hey Rose, I would definitely enter Miss Gogo. I would put her in the puppy class so that the judge would take care with her. I think one class is enough for a newbie puppy but depends on how she's going and how much practise you want her to have. Go and have a great time with her. Make it fun so that she'll develp a love of showing. Go win big gal!!

| I think your bitch is very lovely. It looks like she will have a nice coat. From the picture she looks like she is fairly balance and has a nice topline. How is her movement? The only thing that stands out that I can see is her ear set looks a little low and I prefer a little smaller ears. I have a male that I have been showing and the ears have really hurt him in the show ring. He has beautiful expression with his ears when he is at home but in the ring he just lets his ears airplane and it is so aggravating. He just is not crazy about showing. If Gogo shows good expression to the judge then maybe it won't hurt her. Also, if she had a little more ear fringe the ears would look smaller. I think she has a lovely face. As far as classes, if I were you I would definitely just put her in the puppy class until she is comfortable showing and then if you are her breeder you could put her in the bred-by-exhibitor class, otherwise keep her in puppy class until she is a year old then put her in the 12 to 18 month class. I wish you the best of luck with her and I will looking forward to following her progress. |

| I know what you are saying about the ears....it is just hard to tell in pictures plus photos can be deceiving. I am in the same position as you in that I am just learning about the grooming, I have shown other breeds but not Yorkies and it is a whole new learning experience. I visited your website and you have some very lovely dogs. On the topknot, I have been told that as long as they are in the puppy class a fan topknot is just fine. On the puppy canines...I am not sure. My show boy had his until he was about 16 months old. I just keep giving him cow ears to chew on and his came out on there own. I just hate putting them under unless I just have too. Hopefully someone else can give us some recommendation on that. It would probably be best if maybe you just started by showing one dog at a time until you feel more comfortable with everything. Do you have anyone that goes to shows with you? I live way out in the country but I do have a friend that I go to the shows with. Also, in training the puppies, my friend and I would go to a park down the street where there were sidewalks and very few people around so we could practice moving the dogs on a lead and it helps get the puppies used to being in a different environment. Finishing product I am not to sure about. I would like to know myself what others recommend. |
