| Finishing a yorkie is about coat care and grooming and the ability to show your dog, it is not easy even if you have a good dog. It is very hard for some to learn to groom , it can take time depending on how talented you are with the coat and your mentor. |

| HI! I haven't read all the post of this thread but thought I would try to make some suggestions - someone may have mentioned this before - if so I apologize for repeating it! It is impossible to tell from a picture which puppy is best. And it is not good to select a puppy from a hand stack. What I do with me puppies is set up a large pen outside in an area that I can clearly see but am not too close to. If the puppies are very similar and I can not tell from a glance which one is which - I put different colored collars on them before I put them. I then sit down on the porch and watch them. I watch the way they look when they move and how they free stack themselves. The one my eye is constantly drawn to is the one I select. I start doing this when they are about 8 weeks old and do it atleast once a week. I keep a record of which pup is consistantly my pick. There are several reasons that I do it this way. First, because many of my puppies fight me when trying to stack them so I can't get a good look at them. And second, because I have been doing this a long time (24 yrs) I automatically stack them (if they are cooperative ) in the position that looks the best - which may hide some of their faults. A puppy that can move well and stack itself where it looks good is truthly the best one!Best of luck in your choice! Charlie |

That is great info. And about the self stacker I love to see it. Good moving pups confidents when they move and when they stand natural looks so pretty. I am a newbie at showing but I have gotten a nice boy who I can really see the difference on a self stacker and a great mover. I am learning. And want to continue to learn I love to hear from all of the veterans on YT good info. thanks Kathy | |

| I can't wait to see what one goes to the pet home. I would keep them longer until I was sure if it was me. But good luck I know what a hard and tuff decission you are making. All the girls are beautiful. and Yellow has a place at my house whenever you are willing to part with her.HAHA

| Even puppies that are not truly "Self stackers" can show you how they truly look when they are playing. Just wait for them to stop with all their attention focus on something and you can get an idea of what you will be able to get out of them in time in the show ring. You will see the ones that have the good solid toplines, correct tailsets, tight earsets, and good balance.Gets me everytime! Charlie |

| Thanks so much !! The little yellow girl went into her new home yesterday. I am pretty sure I made the right choice as she was kind of little and the two pounds that she did carry in weight was a very cobby two pounds. I don't think she will grow to be of show or breeding size. So now I just have to look at three instead of four....... |

| I knew the yellow girl would be the one she would pick. Petite and adorable, I will miss watching her grow up. |

| Awe now you can not help but smile at that! It is hard for people to wait and wait while we pick through our show hopefuls, I know that is our choice to do it, but sometimes there are fabulous pet homes that are worth taking the risk of placing a beautiful pup in a pet home! I know we have done it, and yea we kick ourselves but their owners delight makes it all better..lol.
