AM Update. Just got off the phone with Trish. Lily made it through the night and has been moved from ER Vet back to our vet's hospital. We are going to do whatever it takes to save her. I know that a lot of people wouldn't agree because of the expense, but we just have to believe that God will provide for this little one. She deserves to be significent and she is!! Thank you all so much for your kindness and prayers! |
Very special prayers are on Lily's way . |
Thank you so much for the update, every day that she hangs on she gets stronger, I think she really wants to live, and get back to her wonderful mom. I am sure that this is also helping Trish to feel some hope for that little girl, she is a fighter, and i pray that she can make it. Bettyanne thank you so much for the updates, we are all praying and hanging on a thread of hope that she will pull through, God will take care of the money, He, will find a way to take the burden off Trish's shoulders so she doesn't have to worry about anything but her little girl. I think when you make a decission like you have made it can not be just about money, That little girl has been through so much and was just on the mend, and had a taste of what life could be with the TLC that Trish gave her. I think that is why she is trying so hard to hang on right now. I would have done the same thing, and the money will work it's self out, things will come together, and this will all be behind her, with hopefully a happy, healthy little girl that has a beautiful future to look forward to. I am sure all will wait to be paid, and i would hope they would comp. the surgery , or at the least give a very big discount. This is a rescue, I would think that would be the least they could do. I will continue to pray, pray, and pray some more, my heart goes out to you and Lilly, and i know prayers work, especially with the large group that is praying for this precious and deserving little girl! So hang in their Trish, stay strong, and be hopeful. |
OMG I am praying so hard for lil Lily If you all need anything please let me know. |
LILY is home!!!! We went to see her at the vet's but when she saw us there was no way we were leaving without her!!!! She seems to be ok. She has a couple of new meds to take twice a day. She's home, seems as happy as she can be, and will not leave our sides!!!! The first thing she did was check her food bowl then check her bed. We won't know if she has more brain damage for a few days. But she's home and she's alive! We'll deal with the rest as it comes. Thank you all so much for your prayers! Even our vet think's she's a miracle baby!!! God does listen! I've been checking to find out more about Lily...... and not being very nice about it either. I found out that Lily was SUPPOSED to be put down, not sold! At least that's what all those who are trying to cover their butts are saying! Sure, I believe the lieing so and so's! :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown This isn't over......... maybe I can't put them out of business, but I can sure make it unpleasant for them and that's just what I intend to do. No one should ever have to go through this! |
Lily Thank you heavenly father for answering our prayers, and please continue to let Lily just get stronger and stronger as the days move on, and let her continue to thrive! Amen Trish and Bettyeanne, I know you and everyone else here at yorkie talk are walking on cloud 9, i have never been so worried and now so happy, wrap that little girl in your arms and give her a geat big hug for me. :) :animal36 |
My 2 cents!! Just wanted to thank everyone too for all your kindness and prayers! We know that's the only thing that kept our little Lily alive! I can hardly wait to see this little miracle ... hopefully by July, maybe! I have talked to Trish several times today and been more encouraged each time. This little girl is a fighter and she was sooooo happy to see Trish! I believe the best thing for her is to be back home with those who love her. Again, thank you all so much for your prayers and although Lily is still "not out of the woods", I believe we will at least sleep tonight. I'll bet Lily will sleep better than any of us!! ;) |
Bless Lily's little heart...she's trying so hard to have a normal life, the kind of life every dog deserves. I will not stop praying for her to get better, stronger each and every day, until she is... |

Update on "Lily, Our Miracle"!!! 1 Attachment(s) Trish just made a pic of Lily today and I couldn't believe it!! She looks better even after what she went through this past week, than she did when we got her. She just looks so good, I just had to share. And, she is doing great! She is just soooo happy to be home! :p So, without further ado .... here's Lily!!! ;) |
Oh my goodness, look how good Lily looks...WOW!!! So glad to hear she's feeling better. |
She is lovely . Thank you for sharing . |
Lily - update Lily will be having a bile acid test this week to see if she has liver shunt. |
I will hope and pray for Lilly to be a healthy little girl. |
Lily I've just talked to the vet and Lily's bile acid is over 30........ they are sending the test out because their machine will only record to 30. They've told me that I should prepare myself for a diagnosis of liver shunt. My heart is breaking. Now we need to pray that it's not a microvasular shunt. |
Im so sorry Trish.I know you are heart broken for little Lily.Sending Prayers . |
I thought a bile acid test of 30 wasn't bad...or is this the pre test? I will be thinking of Lily, hoping and praying for good news. Hugs to you, too!!! |
I am heart broken about the bad news!!!!!!!!! I can't imagine what you are going through, sending prayers, and strength your way, please keep us updated, I am really worried about this poor little girl, she has gone through so much, and now this. I am devastated for both of you. She seemed so active to have liver shunts, I am really surprised, I think I would re test her, to find out what her count really is with a machine that goes over 30. I just am in shock, I can't believe she could gain so much weight so fast and be so active and have liver shunts. The good thing is she can be operated on to correct the problem, and she is a strong little girl and a fighter. I also would be so worried about putting her under again after what happened last time. Trish I just feel so bad for you and Lily, all we all can do is pray, and you know you have all our prayers for a good outcome, Lily so deserves to live after all she has been through. May God Bless you Trish for being her Guardian Angel, and may he pull Lily through yet another crisis. |

Lily - I still have hope for a happy outcome Thank you all so much!!!! Each and every one of you. You've been so supportive! I honestly appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Sondra..... you are wonderful! Jeanie, so are you......I agree with you.... but I'm not the vet! The tests have been sent to IDEX....... expect to hear at the beginning of the week and I am also waiting to hear about the foot scraping that was done. I have my mind focused........ I am not going to worry about the worse until I know it's the worse. Actually, there are two types of liver shunt, one that can be repaired, one that can't be. BUT........ right now, I'm concentrating on thinking that the test will show she doesn't have shunt....... I'd be happy with white dog shaker syndrome!!! There's definitely something wrong....... an idiot could tell that there was....... sadly.... the rescue she came from says I'm wrong. I called them today....... it was an exercise in futility. Next week, I'll gladly let you know the details of where she came from. I can't even get them to cooperate by telling me where she came from so I can get her vet records....They claim they aren't required to keep records! .. Supposedly from a breeder of champions in Fort Worth, TX. And we wonder why the breed has so many problems. Friends, do you know that according the the latest research at the University of TN... the leader in shunt research, Yorkies are 1225 times more likely to have liver shunt than all other breeds combined?!!!!!! Think about it before you think you want your baby to have puppies, buy a dog from a pet store. Please only buy from a reputable breeder or a reputable rescue!!!!! Betty and I would never allow this to happen to you. |

Everyone of you have a special place in my heart...........and in Lily's. She knows you all care. |
I'm just now catching up on this thread and will keep Lily in my prayers. She's a beautiful baby and is so lucky to have you to take care of her:love: Stay strong! |
An update on Lily!! Thank you all so much for your prayers and donations to help little Lily. You just can't know how much we appreciate you all. The following is an update [which I posted on MillBusters too] and we will continue to update occasionally. This is one tough, determined little girl!! ;) On a happy note our little Lily has an update! Indeed she does have problems and, in spite of them, is the sweetest, smartest little girl. There were those who were interested in adopting her when she was first rescued. Our rescue is a little different than some, in that our focus is the physical and emotional healing and then concentrate on the "forever home". If the dog is intact they are spayed/neutered and since our vet felt it safe to spay her after she gained some weight [her only problem when she came in appeared to only be starvation]. She gained beautifully, went in for her spay and her heart stopped and she had to be revived 3 times. We just couldn't let her go, she had been through so much and just learned to trust those who loved her. What a scare .... fast forward .... those that were interested in adopting her no longer wanted one with "problems". Trish nursed/loved her back and then we learned about the liver problems and possible neuro problems. Patrick & I decided that since she would be "unadoptable" that we would adopt her and she would join our Toto on her little "Yorkie Throne"!! :p We would love her and do whatever it took for her to have a healthy, happy life. Out of the clear blue ... an angel couple who were not deterred by the medical problems, nor the expense, wanted her and there was not a more perfect prospective life for Lily! Isn't that amazing ... there are good, caring people out there! They were told everything in advance [we don't withhold anything and they are more than able to handle expenses that could be ahead] ... so Lily, her medical records and all her stuff are all settled in her forever home and her new Mom & Dad just adore her. So long as she is coming along so nicely, the medical issues will be approached slowly ... they feel, as we do, that she has been through enough to this point and it is better, for her, to take it one day at the time!! :) Sorry this is so long .... the investigation of the horrible place she came from goes on, hopefully with successful results .... and Lily is doing great and oh how she is loved ... ;) Trish spoke with her new parents yesterday and she is doing great and evidently has decided that she rules her new home!! But, isn't that what Yorkies do??? :p |
what a wonderful ending to this story! God Bless Lily and the family who took her in. Bless you and your partner for saving her in the first place. that's really all any of us can do....take it one day at a time. I will think of Lily often and hope you can keep us updated. |
YAY for Lily! Sometimes I don't read these threads because they are just SO heartbreaking. It's wonderful though when one ends like this!:) No matter what happens from here on out, this little girl was saved and was able to have love lavished on her and allowed to live like most YT Yorkies live. God bless you for all your efforts and your determination that made this so!   |
I am so happy to hear that Lily has a "forever" home with parents who can care for her properly. I have 2 babies and cannot have more, and i do not live nearby. However, I was thinking of getting her a "forever" home here, with a friend. Glad there is a happy beginning for her. Sweet baby! You and Trish are Yorkie Saints .... |
Thanks for being there for Lily! I was glad to read that she has a great home. |
