Great news! Lily is on her way to recovery and a forever home! |
It's really sad that all they had to do was feed her and give her some TLC and they didn't even do that. I'm just so glad that she has found her way to you and is on the road to recovery.:) |
YAY Lily you get fattened up so you can get fixed and find a wonderful forever home :) |
What a wonderful thing you are doing for these babies. I hope Lily goes to someone here on YT so we can see her thrive in the beautiful sweet girl that she is. |
She is a little beauty . Thank you for helping the little ones in need . |
That poor, sweet baby. How could anyone be so cruel? Thank goodness for people like you. I pray that Lily finally has a happy, healthy life with people that love her. |
Wow, that honestly just made me cry. You are a great person with a big heart for doing what you are doing now. Missy (we bought her from a pet shop) also looked extremely looked in bad condition when we first saw her. She didn't look groomed at all, and just simply looked unhappy. I can see why she was... God knows how long she was in that little space that was given to her, with a roommate to share. She was extremely skinny and just looked unhealthy. And THAT is why we chose her out of all the other puppies that looked in perfect shape than her. It's like she is in heaven with us now.... we show her loving and care 24/7 Continue to do what you do.... God bless you!! |

God bless you for finding your Missy!! Sounds like she is certainly living the life she deserves! My son has a Border Collie, also named Missy, who had a pitiful beginning. He had gone to a local lake/park at lunch one day and when he finished his lunch, he threw his trash in the dumpster there. He heard a noise in the dumpster and when he raised the lid ... there were two little tiny Border Collie puppies!! Someone had just thrown them away like so much garbage!!! :( He, of course, jumped right in and got them out. They were hungry, skinny and flea infested. He took them back to work and one of the ladies in the office immediately took one of them. My daughter-in-law stopped off to see him and she [not an animal person at all] took the other one home with her! That was years ago and Missy has lived the life that even spoiled Yorkies would envy!! She has never, ever spent a night outside the house ... sleeps with my son and is, without a doubt, the most intelligent dog I have ever seen!! She is getting old and arthritic now and I worry so much about my son when she has gone to Rainbow Bridge. She is his constant, worshipful companion. We still call her our "Dumpster Dog"!! :p You just never know when you look at some of these pitiful, skinny, dirty little ones, what gem is inside! ;) |
She looks so sweet! Way to go! I hope everything goes smoothly for you! |
Congratulations for helping the little ones in need .   |

I have seen many kinds of ring worm, and it does get crusty, and the crust comes off and it can spread, you can treat it with, (Brand name ) Virbac, and it is called Resizole, it is a leave on pink lotion treatment, and it should go away in a few weeks, that is how ring worm starts as a scab, and it looks infected and crusty, and will bleed when the scab comes off and almost leave a hole, the Resizole will clear it up in no time., it is not bad if that is the only spot, but it does spread quite easily, especially if she was stressed in the past. To be on the safe side, as you do not want spores in your home with your babies, i would defineatly ask the Vet what he thought, especially if it does not heal, if left alone and it does not spread, it will go away on it's own in about 6 months, if treated it is gone in about a week, the Resizole kills the spores so it can not spread and you put it on 2 or 3 times a day. While at the Vet you might also pick up some Malaseb Shampoo, to shampoo her in one time a week as she is so little, and that will also kill any spores that might be remaining, so it can not spread, the spores are not visible with the naked eye, i am going to take another look at her foot, it also takes away all the surrounding hair, i have worked with a lot of Vets, and gone to a lot of dog shows where it can easily be picked up, and it does look like ring worm to me. Better safe than sorry. Please let me know what the Vet says, i would think she would be knawing at her nails as they are so long and it does not look like she has, she can pick up ring worm from the ground, floating in the air, it is everywhere. The spores can live up to 17 months. Again i can't tell you how wonder full you both are for taking that sweet little girl in, she probably thinks she is in heaven, she is just a little doll, and i am so glad you recused her, and she is in your care, she really is a cute and deserving little girl, Many blessings to both of you!!!!! We need more people like you in this world. |

Bettyeanne , You don't have to feel helpless because for me a little thing done + another little thing done = a little one happy in new home . I am proud of the little things you do for the little ones in need  . |
Lily Thank goodness you got Lily away from those people. It is an unfortunate reality that some shelters, rescues, and some individual rescuers are not the best just as in every situation in life. First of all, just so everyone is aware, ALL a 501(c)(3) really means is that an organization is non-profit and all donations are tax deductible. They do NOT monitor the activities of the organization. If I were you, I would contact Animal Control in the area where Lily came from and report this person who was not caring for her. Heaven only knows how many others are/will be suffering the same, if not worse, fate than Lily. Bless you for caring for this little one! |
Bettyanne what a sweetheart she is. Your not the only one living under a rock, I also thought rescue ment just that, to resuce not to abuse! Bless you and your friend for doing whatever you can to help these poor helpless little ones. I am sure she will clean up very nicely she has a very sweet little face. Add a pretty pink bow some good food and she'll be ready for a new loving forever home. Also sending wishes for Patrick that he gets back to his old self real soon. |

Bettyanne, I also wanted to say how sorry i am that your husband had a heart attach, and I will have him in my prayers for a peaceful and long life. I also know that you are doing so much for Trish just by being there, and giving her advice and support which is so important in the rescue business, it is so hard to see what people just give up on, it is heartbreaking to see a little girl in that shape, but when you get her back on her feet, you are both Angels that contributed to her recovery, a good friend is always such a great comfort in a time of need, so never undermine how important you are as a team in the rescue business, and how support and good friendship is soooooooo sometimes the difference between saving a life, or giving up on it. I have great admiremation for both of you!!! |
What a terrible story! I'm so hapyp to hear that this little angel is in good hands and on the road to recovery now. |

I just have used him for the last 12 years, he saved the lives of 2 of my yorkies that got food poisioning, he is my hero, and i never have to worry when a pet of mine is in his care. He is just the very best Vet in the state of Colorado!!!!!! I am so glad you also use him. I will be their on the 12 th to neuter 6 of my males, 49.00 each!!!!!! I will than do all my tiny girls, as he is the only one in the world i would trust with a 3 lb. dog. I have all the confidence in the world with him. I am so glad you also use him!!! We will have to get together sometime, maybe on the 12th as i have to spend the day in Grand Junction!!! . |
You two are the best I used to work in Va with Pets 4 U rescue and I saw alot of things which caused my husband and I to adopt only rescued babies our last rescue was with a year and a half old Rotten Rottie he was a whopping 45 lbs when we got him we had moved to Maryland due to Military from Florida and got a call from a lady in florida who told us about this lil boy needless to say today he is in NC weighing in at 96 lbs and doing good, we couldnt keep him ourselves due to my health I can not do big babies any more just little ones which is why I got Nina my heaven sent baby girl she is 5 months old and weighing in at 5 1/2 lbs the vet told me she will be a big girl. do you guys take donations for the babies? please email me and let me know I can't do monies right now due to a move coming up next week and its only my husband working right now but I do want to help in the future if possible. Please post pictures of this little girl getting better .. I sat and cried when I read this which hubby is upset at me because due to my heart and cancer he doesnt like me upset. God Bless you both and all who rescues for the love of it not the greed of it. Dionna and Nina... |
