I was hoping to see that she found a great home, we are still praying for her. |
I was hoping the same. Any updates on Angel? Is she still with you, Lopsi? |
She's still with me for now, but I do have an update :D I've been in contact with the rescue that roxanne put me in contact with. They're working on placing her in a foster home. She should be placed sometime within the next few days. We talked for a long time about her, puppy mill dogs, what her life's been like, what she does good with, etc. She's looking for a foster home with at least one "stay at home parent" - I told her how great Angel did when I was here with her all day, and how she's really not doing quite as well when we have to leave her all day. She gets depressed, and she freaks if you put her in the kennel. I also told her all about her potty training and that she's not totally potty trained yet, but if someone's there to take her out, she goes. They are also going to get her fixed and do her dental work. I explained my sittuation and what all we've done for her. I told her that we've spent over $300 that we really didn't have anyway, and I apologized for not being able to follow through and finish getting her ready for a permanent home. She seemed to understand. We talked about her rescue organization, too. It sounds like the place I want to turn Angel over to. They don't keep dogs in cages, which is a big thing for me. I've had several rescue places say they'd take her... because they had a cage her size. As you can see, I still have her :p My theory is that she's lived enough of her life in a cage, and she's getting to experience real life now. Why take that away from her? And besides, I've had her a few weeks now and no one wants her, what makes them think she'll go home within a few days and that a "cage is ok for a short time like that"? I think it's inhumane. Anyway :p I know that's my personal opinion, but I'm too convicted to turn Angel over to life in a cage. So this rescue organization places all dogs in foster homes and lets the dog live with families. I explained that Angel's a puppy mill dog and that yeah, she's doing really well, but she still needs TLC. They're going to try to put her with someone who has experience in puppy mill rescues (unlike me, until now lol) :) Maybe, just maybe, she'll get what she deserves. Finally. |
I hope it works out for both of you.:) |
Wow, well I was just sitting here studying away, and this lady calls me and says.... "Hi, my name is [insert name], and Barbara's Bow-Wow said you might have a yorkie rescue available?" Barbara is my groomer :p I told her about Angel, and I told her that we're working on getting her into a foster home, so if she really wants her, she needs to act fast. They are an older couple that want a little dog to baby. No kids or anything, and I told her about Angel needing dental work. She agreed to get that done if she took her... Anyway, I'm gonna run call Barbara and see what she says about the lady since I only know her from a phone call :p |

The sad thing is, I have to admit.... My husband and I were laying in bed last night talking about how attached we've gotten, and that we're gonna miss her bunches when she goes to her new home.... :( |
Lil'angel I'm glad it looks like things are going to work out....I've found YTNR to be wonderful organization who would do anything for the yorkies... Yes, we foster the yorkies in our homes...no cages..(they may be crated at night till they get acclimated with the family or during travel)..and are treated as family.... when they need us, we're there for them and get the medical attention and care they deserve. I know you will miss her, Lopsi...I still miss every foster yorkie I've ever had...but I know they went to wonderful homes..yes, I've kept one for myself!... Let me know if I can help you, roxanne in NC |
Oh, I was so excited to get this email...My fingers are crossed that this is a qualified couple and the Angel goes to a loving home. |

I just pray that she gets to go to a great forever home soon and that she gets the attention she needs (both medical and physical). :D |
Woops. Internet blip, double post. Sorry :p |
I am so glad for you and Angel she needs to have her very own Mommy that loves her all the way.:p |
Just knowing Angel is alright is thanks enough! Just knowing one more of the little helpless angels is going to a good home is thanks enough....I get so upset seeing the abuse that goes on.. they call volunteerism a thankless job..NO WAY...I get thanks with yorkie love and yorkie kisses everyday! roxanne in nc |

And I know what you mean, it's been difficult and stressful sometimes, but it's definitely been worth it to watch this scared, dirty, stinky, horribly abused & malnourished yorkie.... come out of her shell, wag her tail, get cleaned up, run and play, learn about the bed, get excited over hot dogs, and the list goes on and on.... She even kisses me now :D |
