| Yorkie Yakker | May I suggest watching a few of his episodes? He really teaches us how to become that alpha pack leader, all humans within the family. How proper walking techniques relieve the stress dogs take upon themselves. I find the problem I run into with my kids is they see our older dog as name, breed, animal instead of animal, breed then name. I try to get them to learn how to walk the bigger dog but as kids go....their attention span is quite small . It's always easier for Mom to do it. |

				   | I'm sorry that you have to give up your dog. I'm actually a rescue volunteer and foster mom for Save A Yorkie Rescue. If you keep on having a hard time still finding a home please let me know. We might be able to place him with one of our applicants. You can check out our website www.saveayorkierescue.org and check out our adoption process. We very careful and selective with the homes we adopt our dogs to. Please think about it. |

				   | I know you want to see him but you may want to consider looking outside NY, there are plenty of YT people who would snatch him up in a heart beat.. You may not see him everyweek but maybe that would be better for him because he may keep thinking everytime you visit him that your coming back to get him and he would be sad afterward. At least you know with anyone here you would get to see pics and talk to who ever his new mommy or daddy may be. and see him but not as often cuz it would depend on where he is. I feel really bad for him and you too. and if you surrender him to a rescue they cant guarantee that he goes to a home in rockland because they have so many other babies to find homes for too. Im sorry again you have to go thur this. Good luck

| Donating YT 7000 Club Member | this is an old thread! haha. Just incase the person is still looking for a home for their doggie...I'm so sorry. We just had to rehome our three due to a move...including my lab mix who I've had since I was 5, he was 1 (he's 9 now). And I'm posting because I see you saying that you don't want to let him go out of the area. I felt the same way. But Rusty (my lab) found an incredible home in Alaska. and as hard as it was to let him go all the way out there, I see pictures of him ALL the time and he has a wonderful life. its been a month, so its still a sore spot, but it is getting better. So I would suggest, if you are still looking, that you look outside of your local area. Best of luck! and hugs to you.
