| A puppy mill rescue needs to be adopted! A friend of mine just adopted a rescue tiny yorkie. He was in a foster home since September from when a puppy mill was closed down in Arkansas. She wants me to adopt this other little guy - he's 4 lbs 11oz and adorable - but I have two dogs now. I only have two arms, a car seat that fits two dogs, etc. If anyone is interested, I'll be glad to give your the information on him I'm going to try to post a picture - I'm new here and not sure how to do it yet. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...oradoption.jpg I haven't even introduced myself yet - I just feel bad about this little guy. If no one takes him in a week or so, I might have to relent. By the way - I don't own a yorkie - I have two Maltese (whoops - don't tell anyone)

| I believe there is a format you need to use when posting a yorkie for sale or to give away. Where is the yorkie located now? In NJ? Will she ship? Is she asking anything for it? He is such a sweet little guy.

| I could still snatch him up..... Ok - here's the story. A girl friend of mine adopted a tiny three lb. yorkie last week - she is trying to talk me into getting one - I am so torn I can't stand it - but I think two dogs are managable - three is ....harder! A puppy mill in Arkansas was shut down in September. The dogs were(are) in foster care in Arkansas (not New Jersey). This little guy which they refer to as "Chris" is 4lbs 11oz - the rescue people have been turning down applications left and right looking for the right homes. We've been in contact and she's really wanting me to adopt. I might cave - but I thought maybe there would be some really good homes on this web-site. - So I registered just to list this. Oh - he's neutered too, and has had all his shots. Being that he's lived in a cage for his whole two years of life - I'm sure he's not housebroken. It'll take some patience, but I bet he would make a great pet. She told me he's very sweet and gets along with everyone - but I would guess that anyone wanting to adopt out a dog would say that - so I can't attest to anything. here's the e-mail address - we've been e-mailing back and forth for a few days. I don't know where else they deliver to - but you can ask. SocietyWaggers@aol.com the woman's name is Jaxie. I think my friend said she paid $350 adoption fee and then maybe around $150 for the transport (I may be off on these figures - cause I never really inquired myself). Good luck. Pat

| Jaxie is w/ BeebeHumane Society. There was a post called "Hey East Coast." They had 39 Yorkies taken and were ONLY being shipped to the East coast. Not sure why but sounded a bit strange. Anyway, I had filled out an application was approved (Without being checked out - vet ref. etc) Also kind of strange for a "RESCUE." Did speak to a reputable place in Jersey (this is where I"m from in case you don't already know by my name I was told that this is no more than a puppy broker. Whether it's the truth I cannot say but again why only adopt out to the east coast. My other problem with this was that they or most of them had ulcerated eyes they were being treated for, were getting spayed/neutered and being shipped to the East Coast on the puppy bus within a week after being spayed / Neutered. Again I do not know of any rescue that would ship a dog especially a dog with medical problems a week after a surgical procedure. I inquired on here to see if anyone got a yorkie from Jaxie (Who is based in Arkansas) and no one has gotten any. Just my input on all of this. Not trying to stir anyting up, just becareful. Elaine |

| Waggers Society Wow - I hope what you say isn't true - but I don't really know much about it. My friend did get a puppy last week - and he is adorable. 3 pounds Checked out good with her vet and looks very healthy. If what you're sayng is true - I am very embarrassed. Thank goodness some people know what's going on!!!! I love my Malts - glad I held out for another dog! I would feel terrible if someone got duped on my recommendation!

| The other question I had too w/ Jaxie was that "She is turning down applications left and right" yet she refuses to work with any of the Yorkie Rescues in trying to find the right homes. She has MANY different dogs not just Yorkies and it would seem to me that a place that has just gotten 39 Yorkies in, would be more cooperative in WANTING the help of reputable Yorkie rescues. Puppies are so hard to find and Yorkie Rescues will ALWAYS having waiting approved families wanting a pup. Jaxie stated to me when I asked her about why she won't work hand in hand with a Yorkie Rescue who would in my oppinion have more access to Yorkie homes, she said that she would not work with anyone. | I have Maltese - Nothing to do with any societies No - I don't have anything to do with them! I live here in Manahawkin with two beautiful Maltese. I have a friend who lives in Waretown - she has a Maltese and a Yorkie. She saw a little yorkie on-line looking for what was up for adoption. She inquired, paid and got her little yorkie last Friday. She took him to her vet on Saturday and then brought him here for me to see and to borrow my strap on front carrier. OMG - he's three pounds and absolutely adorable!!! Three dogs are hard!!! She's been trying to get me to adopt this other little guy - but I just don't really want three dogs. If someone told me I had to take one - I would, but if I have a choice - two is good. I have puppy parties with a few girl friends a couple times a year and we all get together for lunch, chat and taking pictures of our dogs. My other friend has two yorkies and just rescued a Maltese. I think they both thought I should jump on the band wagon too. Sorry to ramble on like that. Hi, nice to meet you!

| Hi again Pat. Yeah, I live in Lacey but my parents live in Waretown. I would LOVE to see her Yorkie she just got. As I said I almost adopted through Jaxie, but it didn't feel right. I'm glad that it worked out for your friend. I actually got a little Morkie from a woman in Manahawkin. A Morkie is 1/2 Yorkie and 1/2 Maltese. She's just a little over 3lbs. I do have three Yorkies though (all rescues) Well actuall two Yorkies and a wannabe. LOL. Do you guys use Stafford Vet? That's who I bring my guys/gals. Dr. Hurley or Vandabrook. Anyway, I hope that you'll keep in touch. Elaine |

We'll get into that after the holidays. My Archie is three and Abbey is two. Oh - that's right, I never posted pictures on this forum - who would want to see Maltese here! LOL. ....I am a proud mommy. My babies made the Spoiled Maltese.com 2007 calendar - we're January. Of course I bought 6 of them.

| I Know they are expensive. Hubby says that I pay the fees of the Mayo clinic over there. LOL. but I've been using them for ten years and they are the best. Although I will ONLY use Dr. Hurley or Dr. Vandabook. My little Morkie is on my avatar. She looks more Yorkie in person but has champagne hair so you can see the Maltese in her. She's also very calm - which has to be the Maltese. LOL. And she potty trained great - also has to be the Maltese. LOL. Elaine |
