-The maximum size for cabin pet carriers is 23" long x 13" wide x 9" high. A pet kennel counts as either a passenger's one carry-on bag or personal item -Only one pet kennel per ticketed passenger may be accepted for travel in the cabin, as pets must stay under the seat in front of you during the entire flight. -Soft-sided pet carriers are accepted as long as they are constructed of water-repellent, padded nylon with mesh ventilation on two or more sides. -No carry-on pets to/from Hawaii or Transatlantic/Transpacific or Central and South America. -Pet may not be removed from their kennel/container at any time while on-board the aircraft. -Not accepted on flights over 12 hours. -All states require proof of current rabies vaccination for dogs over 12 weeks old and some require proof of rabies vaccination for cats. -Pets Traveling in the Cabin within the United States and Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean ($80.00) -Checking in Pets within the United States and Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. ($100.00) When making the reservation, tell them that your boarding pet. You can pay the fee when at the checkin counter. I prefer carryon a pet. I dont like checking in pet. It stress them out. With my sparky he had motion sickness and still do now when he is in the car with me. He didn't bark on a 2 hour flight so he was good. He threw up and drool alot. Hope this information helps. Each airline requirement is different so check with your carrier for their pet requirment and fees. I wouldn't feed your dog when flying he may or may not throw up due to stress. Bring a blankie cause the airline is kinda cold with the air blowing. Good luck. Have fun. Let us know how it goes.
