Giving away a Yorkie...Free but ONLY... ...to a good home. I'm sure anyone can say that they can give a pet like this a good home but it's got to be for real. I wouldn't give a pet of this caliber away for free, especially when they cost so much and we could definitely use a little extra money. We have a yorkie named "Chewie" (after the wookie from Star Wars - not because she chews everything) and we live in the D/FW area. I would prefer that the new caretakers of our dog have a house with a backyard. She currently resides with us in an apartment. I love Chewie very much but feel it's unfair to her to be kept cooped up all day while we are at work and then with all of the other things going on in the evenings she just doesn't get as much attention as she needs and deserves. When she was purchased, things were different and there was more time. She's great with people and kids but would also prefer that if children are present that they are at least 7 or 8 as she does have a hyper-streak in her. Please PM me if you would like more details. Looking to hand her over in mid August. Please know that it saddens me very much to have to give up a pet I've spent the past year and a half with. It saddens me even more writing and knowing that the reality is here that we just can't keep her any longer. |
awww. I'm SO sorry! I'm sure this has been a very difficult decision...kudos to you for being able to do what's best for Chewie. perhaps it would help if you posted some more information. ie: how old is she? also a picture may help. good luck. :) |
Extra Info. In the end, it has to be what is best for Chewie. I don't really have a whole lot of info. Here's how she came into our lives: Me and my wife work in the same building. One day at lunch we saw an ad in the breakroom that advertised a Yorkie for sale. The story behind the dog was that a lady that worked in our building bought the dog from a breeder for her daughter. Her daughter being a typical kid was supposed to take care of the dog but she ended up being neglected and sitting in a small crate in the garage (and everyone should know how hot it can get in Texas...not to mention a garage). We picked her up and could tell right away that she was well underfed. I don't have much information in the way of bloodline or anything like that. I am not fully positive when her actual birthday is so we celebrate it in July. She turns 2 this year. She's spayed and I'd have to go weigh her and get back to you on that one. That's all I really can stomach to type right now. I'll send pics of her to all that are interested. Thanks. |
I'm so sorry you cannot keep her, but you are doing the right thing- so good for you...and her. I'm sure she will find an awesome home here on YT |
I created an album and posted some pics so whoever is interested can get a visual: http://www.yorkietalk.com/gallery/sh...ry.php?cat=797 |
oh, she's SO beautiful! I love her coloring! |
I am so sorry you have to give your baby away, I know that has to be real hard and painful. I hope you find a good home for her here on YT, then you can still get to see pictures of her and see how she is doing. I hope even more that your situation changes so you can keep her. Prayers and hugs from Peppi, Trixie, and Scampers::ghug: |
Coloring We have gotten numerous compliments on her coloring and looks. Even a guy during a trip to Petsmart went on and on and wanted to "hook her up" with his Yorkie for breeding. Unfortunately (for him) she's spayed...that and she's just not that kind of girl. |
She's a doll! Is she not housebroken or is she trained to pads?:) |
Housebreaking She's not fully trained yet but she's getting better. She seems to be having a little better control. I try to take her out as much as I can but right now I just don't have as much time as I would like to be able to dedicate to keeping the training going. |
I pm'ed you. Please let us know how her story ends! |
what a cutie pie ! she's coloured like my princess! i hope you find a great home for your baby but i just don't get how someone could buy a dog for a kid and the kid is just allowed to neglect her! that's when the parent should step in to at least make sure the pet's ok ! not just leave it all up to a kid and think it's all ok!that doesn't make sense . it makes me wonder how the kid is taken care of? also fending for themself? anyways how could you look at such a cute little face and not feed her or stuff her in a crate?! |
Have you found her a home yet? How old is she? |

I just PMd you....VERY interested |
As heartbreaking as it is to part with a pet I have to commend you for obviously having this gal's best interests at heart. I, myself, re-homed a retriever once, not because we didn't love her, but she deserved more. This site is a great place to find her the perfect forever home. :) |
Please, please, please if you truly love your little girl hand her over to a reputable rescue organization that is trained on finding her the best home possible. They have the experience to know what to look for and what to ask so your little girl will not fall into the wrong hands. They do home visits and know what to look for concerning her safety along with a higher chance that this will be her forever home. There are many questions to ask and they know how to ask them. Unfortunatetly you do not know the people on the net and they can say a lot of the right things but have evil intent. Here are just a few organizations but if you goggle yorkie rescue you will find even more. http://www.unitedyorkierescue.org/ http://www.barkbytes.com/rescue/yorkie.htm http://www.ytnr.com/ Good Luck! |
I think someone should get the baby and leave it on V's door-step. ;) |
There are many qualified members here on YT , that could give her a forever home. Good luck! |
I sent you a PM... I am interested in helping you and your baby! Donna |

Oh she is CUTE ! You saved her from an awful life - good for you - and I'm sorry you feel she needs to be rehomed but will contact some friends for you in that area - Hopefully you'll find a great home for her with someone you can trust - GOOD LUCK ! and LOL Tiggerwit !! Just saw your post ! I am thinking of who lives in that area and do know someone - it's pretty far to Irving - and Livingdustmops is right in what she said too about Rescues - but in some cases - there are some people here that we really do know pretty well - I hope I hear back from my friend soon - she is VERY trustworthy !! |
LOL...I feel bad - I didn't see Heather & Rockster's Mom & others where you said you contacted them - I need to READ ALL The posts !  (sorry !!) Hopefully one of you guys will hear something soon ? This can really work out great for that little yorkie.... |
Yes, I would take her as well, to add to our Crew of Rescues! My concern was the husband's reaction, but he was fine! :p So it sounds like "JustJoey" has plenty of fine YT homes just waiting to spoil and love their baby. And they'll get to pick the one that sounds like the perfect fit for her! :) |
we are intersted too. i sent you a pm. :wavey: :wavey: :wavey: |
