| Alya Went Home Had Pneumonia From Kennel Cough Hi - Alya went home on Wednesday night after being admitted to UF the week before on Thursday night - The culture came back today - she had bacteria that comes from kennel cough - my friend went straight to her vet to get the correct antibiotics - I saw my friend's daughter today and she said Alya lost almost 20 pounds -as all she would eat was a little bit of baby food, scrambled eggs, and chicken broth and she ate very little at UF - She is eliminating well and she is coughing up junk and clearing her lungs -she is also breathing out of her nose instead of her mouth - Just the latest FYI - my friend hasn't slept much for over a week but hopefully everyone can sleep better this weekend - and thank goodness she has an understanding husband! |

| Lady Jane you are a hero. I live in South Florida and it breaks my heart to hear about those poor babies but truthfully I am afraid to foster for fear of my two little ones getting sick. |

| If you ever want to foster, let me know. There IS a safe way to foster. You just need to be sure you are hooked up with a reputable group that will mentor you properly AND care about you and your pups. I have taken many, many yorkies in over the years and "knock wood" my pups have not ever gotten sick.
